The later

The two matches between Australia and West Indies are official T20 matches (they are even competing for the Dettol T20 series trophy).

West Indies will play two additional warm-up matches in Melbourne, against United Arab Emirates next Monday (October 10) and against Netherlands two days later.

No they are bi-lateral matches. Proper T20 series.

Jeez how do you pronounce that?

Pathetic crowd at the game tonight.

Wednesday at 6:15?

Must have just been the Suns cheer squad given tickets   :joy:

Don’t give me cheek mate…

Term 4 just began in Queensland yesterday which is bad timing.

Also, the Gold Coast train line is in the middle of a 9-day closure (due to trackwork associated with the Cross River Rail project) with buses replacing trains between Beenleigh and Gold Coast, so that will deter some fans from travelling from Brisbane to GC for tonight’s match.

Game 2 in Brisbane this Saturday will also be affected by trackwork on Ferny Grove, Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines.

Australia beat West Indies by three wickets and with one ball to spare, in game 1 of the T20 series at Gold Coast tonight. A jetlagged Windies side (most players only arrived at the weekend) was restricted to 9/145, but fought back to have the home side at 5/58. Batting down the order at No.4, Aussie captain Aaron Finch returned to form with 58 runs from 53 balls, and led the late charge with Matthew Wade (39 not out from 29).

Australia won game 2 of the T20 series against West Indies by 31 runs at The Gabba tonight, to claim the series 2-0. The home side put up a clinical performance, with David Warner top scoring with 75 and Tim David contributing 42 runs, and Mitchell Starc taking four wickets. The Windies never really got going in their run chase.

Australia will play a 3-game T20 series against England (in Perth on Sunday, and in Canberra on Wednesday and Friday next week), then a practice game against India at The Gabba. The Windies will travel to Melbourne to play practice games against UAE and Netherlands.

Surely Aaron Finch’s place in the T20 side needs to come into question.

In the 3-game series against England, he scored 12, 13 and a golden duck.

He’s not the only one out of form… Glen Maxwell has only scored 30 in his last 7 innings all up.

Namibia has sprung the first upset of ICC T20 World Cup, beating Sri Lanka by 55 runs in the opening match in Geelong this afternoon. It is also Namibia’s first ever win over Sri Lanka.

The Dutch Cricket Team have upset the United Arab Emirates for the first time in T20, beating them by 3 wickets with one ball to spare at Geelong. It was a tense match in the final overs following Netherlands decreasing run rate.
