well - I trust my mate at foxtel…
look back at my posts where he’s given me info (like a few says ago where people said it was BS going to fox / seven)…and here we are…
So as I mentioned earlier, Fox & Seven will have different commentary teams. Seven will need to have 2 different commentary teams with Tests and BBL.
Channel 9 had AFL, NRL and cricket all at once. Its not the first time
Maybe for Seven but not FTA
Only 1 Ashes series in this rights deal
The full press conference thanks to @ScreenTower
There will be January tests next season. That’s been flagged for a while.
Seven asked. Worner hinted theyay sell them to 9. Well that’sy takeaway.
On 2GB just then Mitch Fifield told Ben Fordham that the anti-siphoning list has nothing to do with him, the government has no role, and it’s up to Cricket Australia, Foxtel and Seven in regards to who broadcasts one day and T20 cricket. Fordham told Fifield that he should tear up the list as it worthless if events on the list are not guaranteed free-to-air coverage.
I have totally misunderstood the purpose of the anti-siphoning list. Mitch Fifield effectively gave the go-ahead for all sporting events to go behind a paywall.
So they got around the anti siphoning rules?? How?? Australia’s one dayers and t20 aren’t on free to air.
This is a dud deal.
How have they justified this. I’ve been at work so couldn’t see any press conference.
Is there any summary as to how ten missed out as they were offering a large cash component with their partnership with 9.
I’m really excited for the new Fox Cricket channel, in particular seeing what magazine shows they’ll bring. On Fox Sports News this afternoon, Crash Craddock joked at a Queenslanders Only cricket version, but also mentioned the NRL-based League Life format could work well for cricket.
Inside Cricket has always been great in years gone by, but there’s always been room for more shows. Big things ahead I’m sure!
Cricket 360 during the summer?
My mate also can be trusted. So I guess 9 and Fox have different takes on it.
absolutely of course he can
Definitely! Most likely would require a different name though, as there is already the program ICC Cricket 360 shown around the world.
Ten loses rights to BBL, it can either be Mel McLaughlin hosting the BBL or Roz Kelly who will probably move from TEN to Seven.
Seven probably meant because Nine shared the AFL with Ten?
This will be the first time ever that only one FTA network will broadcast both the AFL and test/domestic cricket.
Who knows what Roz Kelly’s plans are now that her husband Morne Morkel has retired from international cricket.
Part of Mitch Fifield’s interview on 2GB.
Fixture hasn’t been announced, so merely spectulation?
Which Test matches do you think will be after Sydney?
