COVID-19: SA Outbreak

Should have had it a long time ago but they are hoping to have it so the data automatically goes to SA Health rather than having to download it all the time.

One new case linked to the outbreak cluster who’s been in quarantine since Monday last week and tested positive within the last 24 hours.

Hopefully that 1 becomes 0 in the next few days.

Well it is just good they aren’t any threat as they were in quarantine at time of being contagious. The issue now is if anyone tests positive in the community even if they can be linked.

Just one local transmission in SA today. 5-day Reff has gone from 5.75 on Thursday to 0.22 today. Massive testing numbers - pro rata, much higher than Victoria at its peak.It is all looking under control

One new case who is a close contact of an infected overseas traveller in hotel quarantine. No new cases with the Parafield cluster.

And to think it took the parafield cluster for them to think of testing hotel workers and contacts of travelers.

I thought all travellers (like this new confirmed case) are tested twice during 14 days?

This isn’t a hotel worker. It is someone in hotel quarantine.

I was going off your post that says

One new case who is a close contact of an infected overseas traveller in hotel quarantine. No new cases with the Parafield cluster.

They must have decided to do the hotel quarantine with their loved one. I didn’t even know this was an option.

Gross - why would you haha, I’d be all like “see you in 2 weeks honey”

Well thank goodness it’s linked and is part of the cluster so that it can be traced.

Are they also in quarantine? I am only ever worried about these discoveries if they haven’t been in quarantine.

Yes there are still in quarantine

South Australia has confirmed no new cases today. Chief health officer Nicola Spurrier also confirmed the two international travellers that tested positive this week, have been added to the Parafield cluster.

Apparently they will detail soon how they are linked. I think there are going to be some concerns on the current medi-hotel system and something will have to change.

This raises questions, from the start of the outbreak they have been boasting about their “gold star” performance from that review. Surely that review’s credibility must be under question now that SA seems to accept that own system needed an urgent overhaul.

And they also kept saying that Tasmania was modelling their system on SA’s. should Tas be concerned?

Well I think they said it was ‘gold star’ because the federal government reviewed it and gave it that. There clearly needs to be a national standard and there are some issues with it. But all in all we should be quite proud of the quarantine system here in Australia. Some countries haven’t even done it.

But they need to look at it. And stop defending it at every chance.

Does Tasmania accept overseas travelers?
