Daniel Andrews to speak at 11.00am now. ABC just confirmed.
CORONAVIRUS â THE VERDICT
VICTORIAâS MOST COMPREHENSIVE POLL
From The Age and 9News
The Age and 9News have joined forces for exclusive polling to gauge the opinions of everyday Victorians as to how our state has handled the coronavirus crisis.
In the most comprehensive poll conducted since the virus hit in March, the results paint a fascinating insight into our collective mindset when faced with a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic.
Despite suffering a devastating second wave, Victoria has managed to squash the curve, arguably more effectively than any other jurisdiction in the world.
But the journey to achieve this suppression of the virus has dealt a destructive blow to business, with all but essential services shuttered for more than 100 days.
In conjunction with Ipsos, global leaders in market research, weâve polled more than 800 Victorians to gain a sense of how weâre all feeling as a result of the most challenging year our state has ever endured.
Full results will be published next week in print and digital editions of The Age , with extensive coverage featured in 9News at 6.00pm with Peter Hitchener and in Nineâs Afternoon News at 4.00pm with Alicia Loxley.
Gay Alcorn, Editor of The Age , said: âThis is the most comprehensive opinion poll conducted on what Victorians think about the coronavirus crisis. It goes beyond the politics to reveal how the pandemic has impacted our lives, and what our hopes and fears are for the future.â
Hugh Nailon, Director of 9News Melbourne, said: âAfter months in lockdown this landmark poll truly captures the mood among Victorians. The results are illuminating.â
From Daniel Andrews to Michael OâBrien to Brett Sutton and life under lockdown: find out what Victoria really thinks.
Starts Monday on 9News and in The Age .
Was also on Seven, maybe Nine?
On their Facebook, not on their main channel?
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews will announce details on the easing of COVID-19 restrictions for Melbourne and regional areas later today. Given US president-elect Joe Biden is scheduled to make a major speech at 12pm AEDT, networks in Melbourne will be hoping that the two events wonât overlap so they can cover both live.
UPDATE: Andrewsâ press conference will start at 10.15am AEDT. It will not be shown on ABC News channel (which is sticking with the US election coverage) but streamed on ABCâs YouTube channel.
This isnât such a good idea. He should wait until the afternoon around 4pm/5pm.
Not airing the conference isnât the best idea. These are potentially going to be significant changes for Victorianâs and as many residents as possible should be able to see it.
As someone living in Vic awaiting this announcement, no thanks.
You canât wait a few hours? Itâs not as if the changes were going to become effective as soon as he starts speaking.
as also somone living in vic also awaiting this announment i also say no thanks . the earlier the bettter
Oh please. Enough with the âyou donât live hereâ crap. Itâs a news conference. Whatever time it happens doesnât make a difference. The changes donât become effective when he starts speaking.
Anyway, doesnât matter. Fact is he is speaking in 10 minutes. I just was giving my opinion, which Iâm allowed to, that maybe he should have scheduled it at a time where other things arenât happening.
Itâs happening an hour and 45 mins before Biden speaks. Iâm not sure what the issue is? One network isnât showing it. So what? Non issue tbh.
You crack me up Jason.
@Troiboi No problem. Was just thinking out loud. All good.
there is now a new slogan. stay safe stay open
Morrison is now speaking at 10.30 as well (on the American election I believe).
Lol donât these people communicate!!
I donât think they do lol but this isnât the first time that Andrews and Morrison has had pressers 15 minutes apart from each other
It is being shown on the news channelâŚ
The new background is very white lols
