Yeah but apparently they don’t know everyone that attended and that is why they are worried.
according heidi muphey and by a stament from the aged care centre CONFIRMED: 3 covid cases now at ARCARE Maidstone.
2 staff, 1 resident.
Resident had had 1st shot; has only mild symptoms but will go to hospital as a precaution.
2nd staff member hadn’t had shot - was on leave on Vaxx Day.
also from same statment:53 of 76 residents have received first dose. Second doses meant to be give Tues but will happen today
Dare I say it, but if someone was away on Vaxx Day, why didn’t they just go to a local GP or somewhere similar to get the vaccine? It’s free, and at least they’re not waiting for the vaccine people to return to the aged care centre.
I work in commercial property management and one of our tenants has apparently been told been told they’re a tier 2 site. How long does it take before the covid website is updated because there’s nothing listed?
Why isn’t the media questioning Steven Marshall’s handling of the SA hotel quarantine the same way they questioned Daniel Andrews? Oh wait, he’s a Liberal! Leave him alone!
Depends on whether they need to publicise it or can trace all the contacts another way. We don’t see all exposure sites listed.
1215pm presser. This might be a wild one.
There wouldn’t just be a specific number. Obviously the less cases the better but I would assume that decisions will be made based on where any cases are found the next couple of days. There would need to be confidence that there has been substantial enough testing at key exposure sites and that they have a ring around the majority of contacts. Also if they can link any new cases or are people in isolation then that should make easing more likely.
I feel like it will be hard to justify beyond the 7 days unless there is a sporadic uptick or more random mystery cases. The lockdown should have done it’s job. Hopefully we are getting to that small trickle of cases on the tail end.
are you serious? This is a mammoth effort with thousands of people identified and contacted. We could not have the list of exposure sites we have without the efforts of just the last week. The contact tracers are also having to play catch up because people were moving around in the community for days while contagious without getting tested. You can’t blame “bad” contact tracing for that?!
also according to the age blog a 2nd age care home has repored a postive case : Blue cross cheif exceutive Robert Putamorsi said a staff member at Western Gardens facility in Sunshine had tested positive. The employee was a close contact of a worker at an Arcare aged care home in Maidstone who tested positive over the weekend.all residents are being in quartinined in there rooms and at this stage all are symtom free
I agree. Contact tracing this time has been superb. The fact so many exposure sites have been listed is a good things because it’s literally pin pointing every single movement of these people.
6 cases already backed up ready for tomorrow’s numbers.
Aged care is about to take off it seems.
Health Minister Martin Foley says three cases linked to private aged care:
- The son of the first Arcare Maidstone case who tested positive on Sunday.
- A second worker at Arcare Maidstone. Also works a BlueCross Western Gardens in Sunshine.
- A resident at Arcare Maidstone.
There are 4200 primary close contacts across all exposure sites.
James MERLINO: The next few days remain critical “I want to be very clear with everyone, this outbreak may well get worse before it gets better.”
The Acting Premier says there is evidence of a small number of cases infecting a large number of their close contacts
Weimar: 16,000 new vaccinations
Where are most of these cases coming from? Are some of them contacts that are already isolating or are they mostly linked to the aged care case?
Total of 11 cases, with 6 after midnight and 5 inside the recording period.
Can you post a link rather than such a massive post?
