Which is why I have only watch ABC news during the whole pandemic due to the sensationalism on the others. I don’t even watch the 6pm news these days. They have done themselves no favours and I know I’m not the only one.

I have stopped watching too. Particular since the onset of this current outbreak.
First period in my life I have actually stopped watching the 6pm news, in the background now it’s Mastermind Australia or the Drum if its a half decent convo. Otherwise News 24

Today’s numbers -
Another high number for COVID tests but it was down on Friday.
There were long queues for vaccines at Royal Exhibition Building and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in the morning (some were even turned away later), yet the number of people receiving vaccines was lower than Friday also.
Yet there were more than 4x administered compared to the previous Saturday. Most of the state based vaccination centres are at capacity now. So many of these people lining up and complaining of missing out have had access to vaccines for some time

Media/Opposition - “we all should go and get vaccinated”
General Public goes and does that
Media/Opposition - “Six hour wait”, “System can’t cope”, “can the government do anything right”
Many of which had the opportunity for weeks now to go and get vaccinated but chosen not to until now.

Well considering we were promised to be fully vaccinated by April it’s a fair statement
Completely agree… these centres have been open for weeks and people complaining should have got their vaccinations a lot earlier. I’ve got no sympathy for them. Just get vaccinated.
People in there 20s and 30s ( the biggest movement in the community) most likely won’t be eligible until later in the year.

Yeah the vaccine issues are not Victoria’s fault.
Today’s press conference is scheduled at 11:30am.
While Rafael Epstein is reporting that an aged care facility in Maidstone is in lockdown as a worker has tested positive. Last worked on May 27th and was well.
Are all people who has being confirmed cases being offered the vaccine?
Surely the worker and aged care home have been vaccinated? There is no reason that they shouldn’t be and then this shouldn’t have to be a big concern.

Insiders this morning - people are blaming Federal Govt’s vaccine roll out (rather than State Govt).
NSW Health tweeted this morning that 38 close contacts in NSW, who had attended various exposure sites in Victoria, had now returned negative results.
You would hope so. From Last Thursday there will still over 70 aged care facilities around Australia that had not received their first shot!
Yet we still have that muppet Greg Hunt gloating about how Australia’s doing ‘well ahead of most of the world’ in terms of vaccine rollout, and thinking that we’re the ‘gold standard’ of the world even though by now the vaccine rollout should be almost complete.
Someone should ask him what he’s smoking.
