NSW Health has confirmed today, 18 new cases, with 10 in hotel quarantine and 8 community transmission in the past 24 hours. 44,000 tests were conducted, setting the record in NSW.
Gladys will hold an update tomorrow at 11.00am, detailing what Christmas will look like coming ahead, along with restrictions.
Fingers crossed. NSW canât catch a break this year:
Bega Valley LGA has copped fires, floods, and massive job losses due to the pandemic. (Most of) VIC has only had the pandemic to deal with. The places to be in 2020 are TAS and WA.
Yes I was thinking about around Melbourne where most people live, but of course East Gippsland copped the fires as well. SW VIC has had a relatively disaster free year.
There were a few big fires around South West Victoria which were contained relatively quickly. Didnât get the same coverage of what was occurring over in Gippsland and the North East regions. There were quite a few bullets dodged in Victoria last summer, including the fire in the Plenty Valley
Yeah- a case of think before you tweet and Donât Mention The War. There are jokes to be made once the pandemic is behind us, perhaps, but not right now.
One was turned away from one Qld border crossing with just a warning and no fine, and then tried to cross at another. No wonder we needed the âhardâ borders. Some people just canât do the right thing.
I should add- they lied about their details on both occasions.
So it seems that the SA government is now scrambling to compensate all those from Sydney who were wrongly told to isolate before the midnight deadline. What they shouldâve done was to enforce the mandatory quarantine to start from the announcement instead of midnight to save the mess thatâs been created.
Alternatively they couldâve worked on better communications between officials and staff at the ports of arrival (airport, border checkpoints etc).
Todayâs announcements will be interesting. A bit of the commentary this morning has been around factoring in Christmas and peopleâs mental health. I hope this doesnât blow up.
