Health Minister on Sunrise this morning said he’s happy with today’s numbers released at 11am.

That’s good. Apparently there were a list of 80 locations added to isolating places overnight and a further 60 that require people to monitor symptoms so it will be interesting to see what translates to ‘happy with case numbers’.

Federal government “playing politics”… Victoria government requesting help from ADF to man their borders and told it’s a state responsibility. Thought Scomo said from the outset “we’re all in this together”?

Are they helping anyone though? It’s clear the federal government has never supported the border closures so if they did assist with this then it would only encourage the closures. They have assisted with lockdowns in every state.

Remember that locations listed are super cautious. The monitor symptoms are generally the locations of very casual contacts who very unlikely have the virus either.

Based on the comments on todays numbers the NSW Government could seemingly be getting on top of this one which is a relief. If only it wasn’t so close to Christmas as you really need a decent period of low case numbers to be confident of that, so it will be interesting to see what that looks like from a rules persepctive even if things are looking better by then.

They are still assisting with Hotel Quarantine and did assist with the “ring of steel” around metro Melbourne previously. Also assisted NSW implement their border closure so it does look to have become political from the federal government.

To add to the debate about the fireworks etc currently being had here in Sydney: I think the New Years events should be cancelled regardless of the numbers today or at that time. Christmas is way more important. New Years is not that significant and can be easily cancelled. People can get over it. It is not an essential “family” event.

All the live shots of the Qld M1 borders I’ve seen on Sunrise this morning have shown that things are moving very well. A small line up between 6-7am but moving through quickly, and even lighter just before 9am.
Obviously afternoon peak times will be busy.

I don’t understand why the Premier or Health Minister go on breakfast television or radio and ‘tease’ what the latest numbers are but won’t reveal them until the press conference at 11am. Why do they have to make the press conference like a major event every day?

Just put out a press release in the morning with the stats and then hold the conference at 11am for more details and questions.

8 new cases in NSW.

Gee we could reach 0 by Saturday or Sunday at this rate.

Look at that testing number. Outstanding. People clearly wanting to get on top of this out of fear of more restrictions. Good to seee.

The 1 case under investigation is a health care worker who helped transport an infected international arrival family. The genome sequencing will hopefully link that.

Her colleague has also picked it up, but was detected after 8pm last night so will be included in tomorrow’s figures.

57 cars caught trying to cross illegally and that was at 10am.

Are people really that stupid? Do they live in some sort of delusional bubble and not realize they’re breaking the law. Stupid morons.

The idiot reporter from seven Robert Ovadia asked Gladys about GST revenue carve up. Is this guy right? Like there are far more important things to ask than that shit.

I was interviewed about 12 years ago by Ovadia. He was an arrogant twat then and clearly he’s not all that bright now asking nonsense questions.

He still sounds and reports like one if his recent reports are anything to go by.
