COVID-19: Discussion of Impact 😷

What’s a graphic?

There must be a lot of people that have worked throughout the pandemic that have close to 3 months worth of annual leave. You’d hope anyone that travels overseas signs a waiver acknowledging they could be stranded indefinitely.

Graphic as in the content/images are graphic.

Good to see that a large portion of the state (and a whole territory) that haven’t had a case for more than 12 months is caught up unnecessarily in this.

In all this it is good that the Jervis Bay Territory appears to have remained free of CIVOD-19 (I understand) due to the prompt action of the federal department, the territory administration and the community. There has been strict border controls and on-going restrictions.

This is the second article this weekend about Pfizer and the vaccine rollout - they seem keen to whiteant the government

Not surprisingly ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr was disappointed with Victoria’s decision to close its border with the territory.

From the people that brought us ‘Dictator Dan’ and relentless sniping and undermining of Victoria.

We now have Gladys the ‘gutsy premier’ and “we will get through this … we need to think glass half full.”

Hypocrites. Credlin is the same. Only a few weeks ago during the Vic 2 week lockdown she was lashing out at Victorian Government (even though it came from SA) every single night for their “failures”. She kept blaming Victoria’s poor contact tracers for our lockdown and constantly made comparisons to Sydney’s Gold standard to avoiding lockdowns. Now the Sydney outbreak happens and the bits that I’ve seen its rarely even a headline story. It mostly gets swept under the carpet or only lightly touched on.

I don’t understand why people watch or read anything from sky news.

This graphic ad isn’t going down too well with people I know in Sydney. The ad shows a woman, seemingly under 40, suffering the consequences of covid. People under 40 still cannot get vaccinated yet this ad is targeted at that demographic. A lot of said that has had an impact on their mental health. Another huge fail from our federal government. I don’t think networks should play this ad.

Something nec already mentioned one thing which made sense. You may not be able to get vaccinated yet, but you can avoid social interactions and “stay home”. Pretty relevant message when a section are doing the wrong thing.

It was revealed during an European scientific conference at the weekend that a 90-year-old Belgian woman, who died in March, had contracted both Alpha and Beta strains of COVID.

Looks like the next wave is starting in the US. mainly in the least vaccinated deep republican states.

Victorian health minister Martin Foley said this morning that the ACT was listed as a red zone because the territory did not have a sophisticated permit system like Victoria and other states, and was essentially surrounded by regional NSW, leaving it vulnerable to a lot of movement in and out of NSW.
