COVID-19: China / Australia relationship

How should they be treated then? Are you saying that all governments should treat China like a criminal and don’t have any diplomatic relationship with them? That’s still not going to do anything about the dictatorship. Find a way to achieve democracy in China then talk to us again.

And by the way if you really want to find a modern equivalent of Nazi Germany or Soviet Union, look no further than North Korea. They’re about 10000x worse off than China.

I’m not here to defend CCP or China but your reasoning of treating a country like China with arrogance will get rid of their dictatorship is bizarre.

We should continue to accept tourists from China and allow students from China to come here to study. In return they should meet ordinary Australians more often so they can learn more about this country.

Love how black and white some very ordinarily informed and simple minded posters are. Just cause a TV hack says something doesn’t mean it’s the only valid viewpoint and repeating said viewpoint over and over doesn’t make it anymore right.

Sigh…do i have to explain to you why the NSDAP included the word ‘Socialism’ in their name?

Are there any other Australian journalists in China?
Who was the former Seven Melbourne reporter that left last year to take up a position in China?

ABC News headlines seem to suggest so:

The article says for the first time since the mid-1970s there are no accredited Australian media journalists in China, with correspondent for The Australian Will Glasgow also out of the country. Former Seven Melbourne reporter Emily Angwin continues to work for CGTN in Beijing.

So is Emily Angwin still in China that we know of?

Emily is still in China, according to her Instagram post on Sunday.

Seriously she must be planning to leave?

Will Glasgow is The Australian’s China correspondent who is now back home. He was due to return to Beijing shortly, but the Federal Government has advised the paper against sending him back.

Bill has not done any media interviews even with his employer this evening, the AFR guy did

I believe he was interviewed on the ABC News Channel this afternoon.

He did.

The TV in the background was showing BBC World News.
