Ironically Duncan might have put himself out of a job with his obsession to re-sign K&J, as they now need to pay for it with staff cuts.
I’d like to see SCA take Duncan on-board. Maybe to lead Triple M and leave their other DC Dave Cameron on Hit.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
This is the individual found guilty of assault of former partners. The same individual who sacked staff for far less yet the ARN board supported him and facilitated his ongoing employment.
The same board who agreed with his recommendations to sign K&J for far too much and now more staff have lost their job, again by no fault of their own but due to DC and the board’s decision.
Radio is far better off with out him.
Good riddance to another dinosaur of radio that a decent company would’ve moved on years ago.
I did find it odd that it took ARN this long.
SCA have gone without a Craig Bruce replacement for quite some time now.
I could never understand why each network needed a Group CD anyway. Just one for the KIIS network to report to, and one for the Gold network to report to would be enough.
More fat to cut when Nova are needing to save money.
ARN have released their Full Year (ie. calendar year) results: https://cdn-api.markitdigital.com/apiman-gateway/ASX/asx-research/1.0/file/2924-02918414-2A1581146
SCA will release their Half-Year results later this morning (11am AEDT).
ARNs metro revenue has dropped by 3.8m for the gold network, while KIIS Mel/Syd has gone up $100,000
That’s a surprise
Should’ve given the state based role to Graeme Tawyer, inaugural and still the only sales chief at Hot Tomato.
The efforts he’s gone to, especially in recent years are fitting of workplace recognition.
Radioinfo are saying that 70 back office jobs are set to go from the company.
Also, they’ll have their AGM next Thursday (8th May).
Yes apparently shareholder discontent is brewing with a push to vote against executive bonuses and incentives.
I do actually wonder if ARN isn’t desperately trying to bolster their share price to try to ward off a takeover.
Kyle and Jackie O strike again.
Last one turn out the lights. Thank god they didn’t get their filthy hands on SCA and destroyed two companies.
What a bunch of moronic fools.
Don’t blame them for wanting big paychecks, blame the fools who gave into whatever they wanted and destroyed their company in the process.
Who would want to acquire ARN, though? Seven West? Nova? Nine Radio? SCA? Private equity?
Most of the likely contenders would either need to swap assets or form a joint bid—much like ARN did in its own move for SCA—to make such a deal viable. Some may not even be in a financial or strategic position to acquire the company’s assets. And then there’s the bigger question: what would an acquirer do with ARN’s regional assets?
