Hope Mindshare can do better than Carat. Their contribution resulted in below par numbers for Nova.

I’m happy to talk about his infamy that he, nor management and the board continue to support him with, his multiple court appearances on DV related charges.

How is not more of a problem for ARN? 2DAY and 2GB both had the Mad Witches go after their clients for on air comments, why is ARN off the hook for far far worse behaviour?

The new deal sees Airtasker raise $5 million in media capital from ARN, which will complement the aforementioned partnership with oOh!media, to scale further.

Together, they expand Airtasker’s Australian media capital reserves over two years to $11 million.

Airtasker will access ARN’s extensive network of 58 radio stations including KIIS FM, Pure Gold and CADA, as well as its digital entertainment platform iHeartRadio.

And do what? Recruit for ARN? Or will ARN use Airtasker to fulfil jobs/duties?

Sounds like just an investment and advertising deal?

He also rebranded old articles written by previous staff with his own byline. Seems like a very odd character.

Wow.

I remember when he first started writing for MW, sort of 2017 or 2018 IIRC, under veteran and respected James Manning. I was a subscriber and back when they provided more ratings and insights, including the Morning Report and other fascinating industry titbits. He seemed normal, then unknown and just like an up-and-comer learning how everything in the sector works. And then it was somewhat surprising he got given the top job. And apparently (had no idea) runs his own company which also owns MW.

Who would’ve thought, you just never know who might be dodgy, regardless of age/gender/experience/aesthetics etc and yes innocent until proven guilty and what have you, but from that AFR scoop (Sam Buckingham Jones - Zoe Samios’* AFR mate also seems to have become quite the media journo) seems like everything off record is saying he is no good and the details sound explicit and serious.

*starting to believe she was internally moved from SMH to AFR following that since reported Bruce McWilliam incident with Seven.

Mediaweek announced this afternoon that Trent Thomas has stepped back from the trade publication following the AFR’s report. The publication’s senior leadership team – general manager Sarah Chapman, digital and marketing director Kellie Brown, chief revenue director Andrew Mulready, and editor-in-chief James Manning – will continue to lead in Thomas’ absence.

Doesn’t seem like that much of a profit really. Maybe Nova should buy THEM out and complete their Smooth network with 97.3, Mix 102.3 and 96fm. Keep selected regionals and just flog off the rest…

Interesting article. A key point was that the (so far) failed SCA bid cost them $4.5M against a profit of only $10M. Not a great look.
