It was originally on a community licence, callsign was 2TCC I think.
Someone other than Mark Chapman Smith? Praise the radio gods!
Beau FM Beaudesert update:
Have tried telephoning them via two numbers available online.
Both disconnected.
Doesnāt bode well.
Listening to some HHH FM tonight. Thank god for suburban community radio, often better than commercial radio. With people who are passionate about their music behind the mic, compared to emptyness of autopilot commercial music radio stations (most of the shifts). 2ch might be a slight exception (although none of announcers can choose the music or so it seems, except maybe Bob Rogers ?) still 2ch looks to have its days numbered.
Switch 1197 is coming back
check us out http://switchbrisbane.com.au
With the same dance music format?
Switch was a brilliant community station back in the day - up there with Fresh92.7.
There will be a focus on Dance music but still in the first stages at the moment.
I vote for 80s new wave
I vote for animal noises 24/7.
Canāt wait for some hot dance mixes on⦠AM radio.
(In all seriousness, I take it that DAB+ and streaming will be front of mind?)
Iāll make sure to pass it on, Maybe ill make a substation of StarterFM.com and make it this track 24/7 with animal noises at the hour.
theres some old school songs in the package:
1 - shine by the newsboys
2 - baby baby - amy grant
3 - fathers house by audio adrenaline
2 of which i have not heard in ages (newboys and Audio A)
I am interested in what people think of the radio situation in the Hawkesbury, what do you think the area needs and what would you change?
I recently left WHCR 89.9 FM and now looking at the situation from a overview eye.
It needs a stable broadcaster. Not several sharing one frequency. ACMA needs to sort it out sooner rather than later. Shotgun marriage, new operator, doesnāt matter. Get it done.
Definitely agree with you, multiple broadcasters broadcasting for only a couple of days a week makes for a very hard traction with the community and with advertisers.
What about a station with a focus on the youth, but still keeping in mind the general nature of the license.
Nothing wrong with bringing back the old Hawkesbury Radio format; it worked well. Just a shame that egos got in the way.
One thing that wonāt be back is the Mechie Show, but you canāt have everything.
Any community station interested in retro programming should take a look at Paulās Powerzone:
The Mechie Show lives on up north these days! But if a networking opportunity came up, Iād consider it.
Was just about to suggest syndicating your show. Maybe Braidwood FM could be the first expansion target?
