Classical community station Fine Music 102.5 Sydney has recorded its best ever figures in the latest McNair listenership survey.
“The community surrounding the radio station is collectively and deeply loyal,” according to Station Manager Rebecca Beare, who tells radioinfo about how the station’s philosophy is key to its success.
In the latest McNair survey (July 2019), the combined FM and DAB broadcast recorded average weekly listeners of 240,000, and average monthly listeners of 638,000.

New Juice 107.3 Gold Coast Breakfast show:
CHLOE Maxwell, model and wife of dual international footy legend Mat Rogers, is to host a new breakfast radio show, with her famous husband joining her on air “from time to time’’.
The high-profile mum of four will be hosting Good Taste Brekky with Chloe Maxwell on Juice1073, a community radio station. The new show kicks off on Thursday, August 1, and will be aired on weekdays between 6am and 9am.

What a waste, she has proven herself to be a capable broadcaster on the ABC in 2017. Unfortunately, they used other staff externally and there was no further work.
For those missing Magic in Melbourne, the community radio station on 98.1 fm to the east, seems to play some great tunes. The stream quality is reasonable too.

Macarthur Community 2MCR-FM will celebrate its 30th anniversary on August 22.
The station launched from humble beginnings following a public meeting in 1989.

Vision Australia is getting a total of $571,472 in 2019/20, $588,616 in 2020/21 and $606,274 in 2021/22, and is one of the few community radio organisations to have funding allocated from the CBF for the next three years. Most apply for funding each year.

Hopefully that figure is for all Victorian Vision stations, not just Bendigo given most of its content would be coming from Melbourne.

The Facebook page of 2BRW Braidwood FM has some video & pics of the recent antenna & tower changes that occurred last month. Looks like the antenna polarisation was Vertical rather than Mixed.

July 19 - Update: “So the new tower has been installed, however, some of our new equipment has been damaged by the wind storm that brought the tower down and needs to be replaced. 88.9 is off the air until this new equipment arrives. We hope this to be very soon.”
July 16 - Video of new tower install (Day 2)
July 15 - Pics: Work commences on the tower replacement. 94.5 has been switched off for a while so change to 88.9.
But this will go off later. To allow the new tower to be installed. Both will be back later today.

Good on 2BRW, great to receive such an upgrade to transmission infrastructure.
Weather permitting, there’s an antenna replacement at Artarmon happening from Wednesday this week, if anyone is in town & wants to have a look & take photos?
Roughly 2 week duration, it’s the side mount antennas for the community FM stations on the North West tower leg.

94.5 was horribly overdriven and distorted; hopefully 88.9 is better. I think 88.9 sounded OK a couple of weeks ago when I tuned in.
Good to see 2BRW is getting out and about in the community with OBs and plenty of Farcebook engagement.
