Much like the extensive LPON network that gets run by the religious folk and nothing gets done to nip the monopoly in the arse or for it to be fair for the average folk, not sure much will happen with this whole partnership thing should it break the rules.
It seems religious folk are exempt from a lot of rules in this world.
I’m trialling Bay FM as my 4KQ preset replacement. Not hating it so far. I even heard the new Noiseworks song this morning. Mostly classic hits of course. Still prefer 99.7 Bridge but now I have 2 community stations on the presets which is a new thing for me.
I’m not sure what this is like these days but it generally is pretty good. I did have a friend who worked there at one point hosting one of the segments where they would do song requests. I’m not sure whether his still there.
@matt86
On the way to the Southern Highlands this morning I checked out SWR fm at Horsley Park near the transmitter site, and the spurs / Intermodulation are gone.
100.1 was the only frequency obstructed by SWR fm. What ever you have done has fixed the problem.
100.9 2BACR (Bankstown, Sydney) is no more.
The station has enacted a name change to:- “Connect FM”
It can be heard giving ID’s as: 'Connect FM, one hundred point 9"
“Connect FM” - a great name for a community FM station.
Certainly easier to remember the name & rolls off the tongue easily.
Early this morning I had music fade up over Bathurst, unlikely to have been Port Stephens. If it was Bankstown then they have improved their signal as this peaked at 2 bars. The only other possibility would be extended meteor scatter from ZZZ Lismore. Sydney stations were enhanced this morning.
Has it only recently changed on-air? It’s been the new name in the CBAA app for a little while (the visual branding didn’t really change beyond the name), but I never really gave it a listen. Agree, and although I guess some will complain that the name has few ties to the local area, the branding still has to be right.
2CCR becoming “Alive 90.5” in the sub-metro market north of 100.9’s also comes to mind in that respect, although I guess that sorta risked being mistaken for a Christian station if not careful.
The one I mistook for a Christian station is 2WAY FM Port Macquarie. There is 1WAY FM here in Canberra and also 7WAY FM in Launceston, both of which are Christian community stations.
