Yeh. That’s a shame. And no Kasey Hunt. And no 5 Things?
Tbh I suspect with the coming clock changes they might just change things in dribs and drabs (America’s clocks change a few weeks before Europe’s). I’m not bothered about Kasie Hunt but I do find the lack of Wolf surprising.
Wolf should be on air globally. He’s still their biggest brand name anchor. I know they’re trying to make Tapper the main political anchor - but even he’s only on for half an hour on CNNI. Strange decisions. Wouldn’t you wrap the international shows around the faces of the network. I mean they’re the people you tune in to see doing the news.
I honestly thought The Sit Room would have been in the new schedule, even if they just took one hour (they had 11am ET right there!). But I think they have to keep CNNI mostly separate because of CNN Max. And as for World Sport… overly long and overly boring. Should have been shortened or even ditched years ago.
It’s a very bizarre move. Considering how badly the ratings have gone back you’d think they would be open to wanting to have more coverage with a highly regarded program….
Dunno about anyone else, but that show title is really hard to read lol.
Way too much going on I agree.
Do we think it’s a transitional period? Wolf slowly winding his workload back and will end with just Pamela in the role? She’s doing a lot of press in the US
Suits the show, lol. I think you’re right about this being a transition period. Wolf apparently signed a new contract at the end of last year, which I suspect will be his last. He was rumoured to be retiring this year, but that’s obviously not happening now… I’m not too sure about moving Sit Room to the mornings tbh but it’s obviously a ratings thing.
End of today’s CNN Newsroom from London - from Monday a repeat of Amanpour will air in its space:
I think 5 Things is in the new CNNI schedule, but for some reason it’s billed as ‘CNN Newsroom’. It’s apparently a CNNI production so I’d be very surprised if it’s not on there. Then again, this is CNN we’re talking about… their management isn’t the most savvy.
No idea what has happened to 5 Things but today it was just an ordinary CNNI Newsroom bulletin (that was also broadcast on CNN Domestic). Perhaps they abandoned that idea for whatever reason. The hour before that was The Whole Story today. The rest of the week it’s Inside Africa and similar (yawn).
CNN This Morning with Audie Cornish was exactly the same as it was with Kasie Hunt. (I suppose they did only change the graphics last year… but the music is annoying and repetitive and could do with a change IMO.)
Yeah, it was introduced yesterday. It looks very, erm… interesting.
Been about since 2015 but has a new set as above
It’s the big central round screen that lets it down cause it looks crap. The rest isn’t bad
The revived Early Start, erm, started today (this is what was originally billed as 5 Things). Presentation was nothing special - one camera shot from a flash set. No caps atm but will put some up if I find any.
I think this look and feel would’ve fitted more comfortably next to This Morning’s last look with all the wooden bits, but now… LocalNewsTalk likened it to an Apple Store, which I think is spot on
For completeness, here’s how it looked…
… is apparently off to host yet another panel discussion show on the channel:
Fans of Phil Mattingly might be interested to know that he’s filling in for Jake Tapper on The Lead this week and doing a fantastic job of it. @MBB @melbviewer
Oh I’ll have to check it out love him.
