Classification

Even though most states don’t begin official school holidays for a few weeks, Seven at least are now airing only PG during weekday afternoons as of yesterday.

Probably because many schools (private, etc) and Year 12s and some Year 11s will have had classes already finished or finishing in the next week or two.

Might explain why Quantum Leap has disappeared from GO! as well - an abundance of M episodes.

School holidays started across all of inland QLD yesterday and most private schools ended last Friday, so makes sense.

I stand corrected, wow that’s early! But then again, Queensland people have always been a bit ‘different’ Let’s start with daylight saving and go from there (cue: mod edit for ‘personal attack’ LOL)

MOD EDIT: WTF are you on about

Whoops!

If you’re going to mention Queensland at least have the courtesy to tag @pelican into the thread.

SBS World Movies seem to be doing the same thing.

“References to violence”… Networks continuing to make up all kinds of consumer advice, after ACMA’s changes at the end of 2015 (removing the prescribed consumer advuce lines)

Agreed, I’ve seen all sorts of advice listed in the last few years by classifiers - not a fan. It seems they’d rather stylise the advice than lengthen the advice list. Nine has a habit of listing “mature themes” rather than the traditional “adult themes“ which I think more of the audience would understand at a glance.

Does anyone know what the rating for The Simpsons episode from Season 27’s “Barthood” was? (Eleven, not 7mate)

Hi TBoy

I checked my recording from Eleven for this episode and it was rated M with [D] Drug Use.

I wonder what Treehouse of Horror XXVII was rated on Eleven? is it M or MA? Please tell me (with consumer advice)

Watched this clip of classic The Simpsons the other day and can’t remember the factory worker ever saying “Leroy, get your ass over here” when I watched it as a kid. I remember it abruptly stopping after “clog in the torso chute”. I can understand the reason for the cut - it must have been for a G timeslot. But man, the full uncut scene is so much funnier! The way he unclogs the thing is hilarious too, like he’s done it a thousand times before. :joy:

When you first watch a full S2-S9 run it’s mind blowing just how much 10 cut at the time to allow for the 6:00 G rating.

I think they skipped Natural Born Kissers (M) Because they couldn’t cut it to G. By the way, do you know the consumer advice for that episode?

Yes they did, they ran this episode as Adults Only Simpsons for at least 5 years (later paired with the few other M rated episodes). Often scheduled at 9
or 10pm on the rare occasion they had a 30min MA15+ program that they had nothing else to pair with to fill the hour block.

Would have been sexual references, nothing more.

Oh, speaking of M rated Simpsons its weird how Ten rated “Weekend at Burnsie’s” M with Drug Use, but Seven rated it with a plain PG. Same with “There’s Something about Marrying,” M with Adult Themes on Ten and Plain PG on Seven.

The Simpsons re-runs at 6pm during the 2000s and 2010 had to be “G” on weeknights, but I have a feeling not so on the weekends (after the national news with Tracey Spicer/Steve Liebman/Bill Woods/Natarsha Belling)? As I recall the ACMA code allowed “PG” at least across the day on Saturdays and Sundays at the time? Though this still would’ve affected the occasional eps that met an “M” classification, including the first-runs after 7:30pm or ‘The Simpsons Hour’.

I also remember those ‘Adults Only’ promo eps, though curiously many were only “PG” (I think 10 took a harsher approach to content concerning ‘sex’ as opposed to say violence - and because the violence was often stylised in nature due to the animation).

Ikr! It’s ridiculous. I didn’t even notice when I was younger at the time, but even 10 admitted as such (I think in some TVT articles over the years).

Also, since Seven gained the rights, I think they put a blanket “PG” over all eps, those that don’t require consumer advice or aren’t higher at “M”.

Hopefully someone posts an Adults Only Simpsons promo at The Simpsons page on MediaSpy.
