Today’s TV: 17.5.1989, North Queensland
Source: Sunday Mail / Scene On TV
Scene On TV published a North Qld edition with channels NQTV (Townsville/Cairns), MVQ6 (Mackay) and ITQ8 (Mt Isa) and ABC instead of the Brisbane channels.
(Other QLD and NE NSW regional channels were squeezed into 2 pages at the back of the magazine in both Brisbane and NQ editions)
I like how MVQ and ITQ are listed as ‘Mackay’ and ‘Mount Isa’.

I didn’t realise bright Ideas was still going on 2004. Is my memory shonky or did it begin as a proper lifestyle show but then just became infomercials or was it always just dressed up infomercials?
I think it always had infomercials, but it went from 25% infomercial in the 90s to 100% infomercial by the end of the run.
I believe 2004 was close to the end, as it was cut back to 1 hour after having a 2 hour run time for a number of years pre-AFL rights.
Looks like it finished in December 2005, the website is amazingly still online. www.brightideas.com.au
Shit. This kind of TV environment must have been never ẽisted, #myfriend
So SBS has shown NBL matches on more than one occasion.
Fun fact, that match was played on the Saturday and won by Brisbane 121-83.
Back then, the NBL rights were different in each city, Wikipedia lists ABC, ATN, SAS, STW and BTQ as rights holders for that season. With VFL taking precedence on ABV, perhaps they farmed their games off to SBS?
