That night, there was a Hot Seat during at 8pm. As well, Nine showed a Live cricket match between Australia and Sri Lanka in England, and also showing highlights of the French Open during the early morning. However, in WIN Areas, they couldn’t show Masterchef Australia.

  • I noticed that there was an AFL replay of the St Kilda v Western Bulldogs match on 7Mate.
  • I noticed that 10 had 2 local-based evening news over the weekend

1973 and TVQ still a year away from getting a proper news service.

I would’ve been torn between all those afternoon shows back in the day… Batman, adventure island, hogans heroes, Get Smart, Gillian’s Island… so many classics.
And I loved Dina and Percy as a youngster.
Was the show at 4pm on 9 called “Jacki”, Jacki Mac? I recall her first in TVQ0 in the mornings- “Breakfast with Jacki Mac”.

But the infamous Marcia, Marcia, Marcia episode is on TVQ.

Odd to see the news services on Seven and Nine starting at 6pm when they traditionally ran at 6.30pm in the southern states.

Also should’ve mentioned Brady Bunch and My Favourite Martian.

7Two showed a replay of the previous night’s footy between North Melbourne and Carlton.
Channel 7 showed a Rugby Union match between Australia and England which was shown during the late night. I still don’t know why Channel 7 delayed the Rugby telecast into Western Australia.
SBS showed live FIFA World Cup on SBS1 with replays on SBS TWO.

Channel 10 Perth didn’t show The Bold and the Beautiful, instead they showed a repeat of Pets Behaving Badly due to a Queen’s Birthday AFL match between Melbourne Demons and Collingwood Magpies at the MCG (Western Australia didn’t celebrate Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend in June, but would observe it on the 26 September that year).
The Seven Network telecasted an international T20 Cricket match between England and Australia during overnight. As usual, Channel Nine would televise the cricket, but Channel 7 came onboard to televise the cricket in England.
IN WIN Territory, they showed a MotoGP race during the overnight.

I noticed that State of Origin Rugby League was shown at 11PM Perth time. This was due to an EJ Whitten Legends AFL Game being played at Telstra Dome. Perth having to suffer through late night telecasts was a joke. Unfortunately the State of Origin NRL ratings were a basket case in the Perth market until late 2012.
I noticed that SBS News was trimmed down to 30 minutes due to the FIFA World Cup in Germany.

SBS World News was a 30-minute program at the time. It didn’t switch to a 60-minute format until January 2007, when it incorporated a sports bulletin.

They used to show Gillette World Sport at 7pm which ran for many years in that 7pm timeslot.

That day, Channel Nine Perth televised a Rugby league match during the afternoon on the primary channel. Without any AFL on a Sunday, Channel Nine made the decision to air the Rugby League during the afternoon, instead of late night.

Wasn’t it Toyota World Sports?

Gillette World Sport was a magazine program that aired on one of the FTA networks

Gillette World Sport was a British programme (from Sunset + Vine); in Australia, it was shown on the Nine and Ten Networks many years ago. But back in my home country, Gillette World Sport was shown on TVNZ, Sky Sport, Prime and Māori TV.

Yes, I think this one aired on ONE here, in its sports iteration.

I didn’t realise that Matt Shirvington was previously on Channel 7 back in 2005 when he hosted Beyond Tomorrow.
On the other hand, State of Origin was delayed at 11pm in Perth. Perth was not the only city to have late night Origin matches. Adelaide and Melbourne did have the Origin NRL game starting at a very late time.
