I grew up in Bundaberg (WBQ territory) from 1974 to the 80s and there was no local news on WBQ (or later SEQ) until the mid 1980s.
Loved “TeleClub”… daily kids show with cartoons and kids shows, and segments in between.

I wonder how Seven covered the French Open back then; I suspect it was either not live, or they joined in late as it would’ve been 3:35pm Paris time. This would’ve been similar to the arrangement between 2018-20 when SBS started its coverage at around 10:30pm AEST, more than three hours after play has started for the day.

IIRC yes that’s right. Fox Sports had live all-day coverage using the Seven commentators.

Meanwhile over at WIN , their viewers missed out on late-night movie Leonora that aired on Nine.

Temptation (aka Sale of the New Century) premiered on Channel Nine at 7PM (while in WIN Territory, they aired it at an earlier time at 4:30pm which is quite unusual given that Channel 10 want to prioritise the news. TEN News mostly dominates over Nine News in the west since 1999).
THe Price is Right was truncated down to 30 minute episode. They might have dropped the mega showcase and changed to monster showcase of $100 000. To make matters worse, Nine Perth moved to an earlier time at 5pm, which was a fatal decision for STW. And sadly, WIN viewers didn’t have the chance to see The Price is Right, which sadly backfired.

what does this mean?

Fair enough. I thought WIN might have had second thoughts in showing what is basically a softcore porn movie.

During that week, this was the beginning of the end for Bert’s Family Feud. Unfortunately, Bert’s Family Feud struggled in the 5:30pm timeslot and was beaten by Deal or No Deal and Ten News at Five.

CHannel Nine showed a US sitcom, Listen Up!, which aired at 3pm. Despite the good ratings, the show was short lived.
That year was the start of the decline for morning program on Ten, with the 9am with David and Kim. The ratings were very soft. Does anyone know how many viewers watched the 9am show?

Going forward can you please provide a source for this type of commentary, if you don’t have one please leave it absent from your posts in this thread.

Listen Up (TV series) - Wikipedia mentions that “Despite decent-to-good ratings, the show was canceled by CBS on May 18, 2005; “rising production costs” was the major reason officially given for the cancellation.”

…except of course NBN3 Newcastle which did its own hour-long local/national/international bulletin with national and international stories sourced from Nine

Yeah, I preferred 9am over KAK back then as well. Same when The Circle replaced 9am the following year.
