I only vaguely remember Wrok. It was simulcast with 3XY. I think Sydney had a separate version simulcast with 2SM IIRC?

Be interesting to know how Nightmoves came to move from Seven to Ten. A few years later it moved again, to Nine, still with Lee Simon as host but it became a Saturday morning show called Rockit.

Yes, to my understanding that’s correct. WROK was simulcast on both 2SM and Channel Ten Sydney around that time period.

No idea whether it was exactly the same TV show in both cities or if different versions aired on TEN and ATV.

I’d have to do some research but I seem to recall they had different DJ/presenters in each city, with the Melbourne version featuring a 3XY DJ, and Sydney’s featuring one from 2SM.

I think the presentation alternated between Sydney and Melbourne. Mike O’Laughlin (3XY) is mentioned in a SMH article as the first host and Ian Grace (2SM) is listed in guides other weeks. Michael Gudinski packaged the show for Ten. Lots of outraged teenagers when the show was axed later in the year. Ian Grace went on to be program director at Triple M Sydney and Melbourne developing talent like Doug Murray and the D Generation.

TV Week finally decided to get rid of the “SBS” logo and give it a proper heading in line with the other channels :stuck_out_tongue: It was an odd thing for them to put the SBS logo there in the first place, when the other channels just had a proper heading.

It was more odd in the 16/2/85 edition where for 2 days it was SBS 0/28 in line with the other headings then from the Monday it had the SBS logo.

Interesting that Channel 2 had replay of the trots that night. I imagine that would be nationally and Penthouse only in Victoria.

Garner Ted on nearly every channel in Victoria. A bit like that Michael Youssef today.

Mickie de Stoop was a newsreader? Had no idea. She was great radio talent. One of the few female presenters on Sydney radio in the 1980s and I remember really enjoying listening to her show.
