Sadly, Ten wouldn’t have the same success with ACP that Seven did.

They must have thought if it worked for Neighbours it would work for this. Problem was that Ten was otherwise aimed at younger audiences who clearly were never going to watch ACP 2.0. It seemed a very odd pick up by them especially with Neighbours and another teen drama Heartbreak High in the schedule.

They used to film A Country Practice out in the area of Sydney that I grew up in, the Hawkesbury region. I used to watch it solely for the outdoor scenes to see what parts of Windsor and Pitt Town had been filmed!

I still have the video tape of the final episode and the Stan Grant presentation

Was it a whole new storyline when it started on Ten?

Wandin Valley magically changed from being in rural NSW to the Dandenongs in Victoria. Most of the cast changed over with only a handful of characters kept from the Seven series. With the Wandin Valley Base Hospital “burnt down” by Seven I think it was a very different (i.e. smaller) medical practice that took over as the focal point of the series on Ten

Joan Sydney and Joyce Jacobs were just two of the cast members to make the move to Ten.

How the f*** ABC Regional can break their programming when there are only one single satellite feed relayed (to all the country, as ABC are centralised from then) after 1986 ???

ABC still had the ability to split regional channels from metropolitan output whether this was by satellite or not is unclear. They may have still been using legacy microwave links for all I know (which is very little).

Thanks for the info!
I’ve found another one: Ten aired the V8 Supercar Championship Series final that afternoon from Philip Island. Here’s an excerpt from that race.

It was.

NBN had a Greek Variety Show? Seems a few regional TV stations did too. If you call TVT 6 Hobart Regional

Greek Variety Show IIRC was hosted and produced by Harry Michaels (formerly of Number 96 fame). Possibly produced at TEN10 Sydney but sold to various regional stations.

The show later moved to SBS but didn’t have a long life there. I think it became a victim of network budgets as SBS had to grapple with representing so many multicultural groups but didn’t have the funds to do similar shows for other cultures.

Michaels’ production company probably became best known for making Aerobics Oz Style in later year

The infamous ABC2 weekly Stateline marathons… that they persisted with for a while even after gaining permission to broadcast “entertainment”.

clearly very cheap filler for a large block of programming
