Each capital during that era had a different PRG
Yes, that certainly surprised me when I started seeing all these weird PRGs in this thread.
I still like the Sydney PRG animation the best.
Each individual Nine station, even the O&Os at this time were very autonomous in terms of playout / on air presentation, much in the same way that they had different continuity announcers for different cities at the time.
Yes I think the over credits voiceovers during this era would’ve been done by Ken Sparkes in Sydney, Pete Smith in Melbourne and Steve Andrews in Brisbane?
Of course there were some other local divergences in On-Air Presentation during this time, such as Sean Cosgrove doing the voiceovers of Nine Melbourne Sponsor Billboards.
Break bumpers were also different between cities?
I distinctly remember while in Adelaide for a holiday in 2000, a show I used to watch with different style break bumper compared to the one in Sydney.

Now there’s a great question for Media Spy’s Melbourne-based correspondents: What was “5.30 with Jennifer Keyte” and how long did it last for?
Sydney also seemed to have a short lived local program on Nine during 2001 in the form of “Weekend” at 5.30pm on Fridays (May 25-June 29) and later Saturdays (July 7-October 20):
Going by the promo above (with thanks to “Tape Ape” for uploading it to YouTube a while back), I’d presume that show may have been some form of attempt to compete with the longrunning “Sydney Weekender” on Seven…except neither WIN or NBN carried Weekend AFAIK.
Very short lived show, Fridays only, looking at events on the weekend (IIRC) - almost like a Friday version of Postcards. There was also “Summertime with Jennifer Keyte”.
I don’t remember it returning for 2002.

Great to see that the 2001 Christmas Ident has been found at long last…even if it’s essentially the same as what was used in 2000 (and I think 1999 as well) with a different endtag.
As for the PRGs, well I guess at some point during “Further Tales of the City” GTV flicked over to a dirty feed of TCN for the overnight hours?
It was a glitch on GTV’s behalf…after the first ad break ended it blank screened for a few seconds then the programme abruptly returned briefly taking TCN’s feed until problems were resolved.
