The Twitter logo makes it look like a golden snowflake.
The tweaked theme song doesn’t sound very ‘morning’. Sounds like a late bulletin’s closing theme.
I for one like the logo and theme lol.

It just doesn’t suit the rest of the presentation. You have clean cut graphics and set then this golden snowflake sun logo (which I get has historical references) and a theme that’s more suited to Sunday Morning or PBS.

I like a lot of the set elements in many of the shots.
It shame viacomCBS don’t replicate some this slickness to 10’s news division.
Not a fan of the set or logo. Today and CBS Mornings using a Sun logo for their morning shows

Ok after seeing it in full, the opener is horrible but the eye opener part isn’t too bad at least it has a bit of a rhythm and picks up pace a bit. Works well with the headlines.

I’ve said it before but that trumpet is a lot for 10pm, let alone 7am. Also, weirdly the soft set could be seen at the start of the eye opener, but had disappeared when they returned to the studio.

I’m very confused (mostly because I know next to nothing about US shows) but why did they base this new look off that Sunday Morning show? That 2019 clip ^ is the most dated and boring thing I have seen.
Also what even is “Sunday Morning”? Clearly not a weekend edition of CBS Mornings?

I think they’re just trying to tap into the heritage value of a long established brand. They’ve rotated through so many different names, formats and anchors over the years, I guess they see an opportunity to build on the credentials of the Sunday Morning brand.
Nine’s Sunday with Jim Waley was based around CBS Sunday Morning- long form reports, interviews, reviews and culture.

The closest show I can think of that is similar to Sunday Morning is Nine’s now defunct Sunday (which was based off of CBS Sunday Morning IIRC).
Yes the Sunday Morning set looks absolutely dreary and the opener, while timeless, looks very cheap these days with those tacky animated icons.
Apparently it still does big business though in America, winning against Sunday Today and GMA (or whatever is on the ABC), though I suspect that’s due to heritage reasons and it probably has a very old skewing audience.

Careful. I won’t hear a word said against Jane Pauley. I spent my teenage years watching her on late night television.
