Looks like they removed the video panel on the floor too. Strange move so soon after the studio debut.

Maybe it wasn’t being used as planned and deiced to get rid of it

Weird. These old front on desks are so not versatile when you’re building 180 degree sets.

I’m sure they’ll still use the old desk for FTN though. Shame they removed the video panel floor - looked good during the fleeting moments you saw it (FTN, CEN & Special Reports).

With news that 2 CBS News employees tested positive for Coronavirus, CBS has closed the NYC broadcast centre and CBS This Morning is coming from Washington while CBSN operations are being handled by their Boston affiliate as the building is disinfected.

Also, looks like the video panel floor is back - probably after seeing ABC America’s new TV3 studio with its impressive and expansive video panel floor.

Update: So now CBS This Morning is broadcasting from the Ed Sullivan theatre (home of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert):

When the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City initially closed for sanitation last week, KCBS in LA produced the evening newscasts for WCBS while KPIX from San Francisco did the morning news.

Earlier this week, WCBS staff were able to produce single-anchor shows from their smaller CBSN New York set. Last night, the early evening news came out of KCBS while the late night news was anchored by WCBS’s main pair of talent for the first time in about a week, standing outside of the Broadcast Center. The show was switched by KCBS. KCBS produced the morning news today.

Weather has been done remotely with “Mobile Weather Lab” trucks and graphics generated from those trucks.

Every reporter on duty has had to present their packages remotely, either live or from tape.

How long does it take to disinfect the CBS Broadcast Center? When can employees return to work there?

They were able to do news from there earlier this week, but more staffers reported COVID-19 since then. That’s why we have this setup as we see it now.

60 Minutes USA host Lesley Stahl was recently hospitalised with COVID-19 and has thankfully made a full recovery.

60 Minutes copped a blast from US President Donald Trump.

So they’ve had a letter from an unhinged viewer. Nothing to see here…

Is he referring to the US version or Australian version?

If the latter, perhaps he should see the previous episodes where 60 pretty much covered China in a negative light just like he is right now.

By the sound of things, a racist viewer as well.

He’s referring to the US version of 60 Minutes.

Well considering that Trump considers all American mainstream media (bar Fox News) as fake news and as the ‘enemy of the [American] people’, no surprises here.

Did 60 Minutes USA cover China in a positive light recently? Funny since our 60 Minutes have been extremely critical on China in the previous episodes.

Why would Trump be referring to the Australian version of 60 minutes?

It was an oversight on my behalf.

A technical glitch meant CBS Evening News didn’t air on the east coast of USA on Tuesday night.
