Bumper for the post-Agro version of Cartoon Connection.
YouTube: GreenYoshi93
I remember a different bumper from 1998. They must have changed it at some point.
No wonder Agro was so popular…
I remember that music and Alex Wileman from the original Cartoon Connection. I can’t remember her reading books in between cartoons, though. Maybe I went off to get breakfast at that time…
Wasn’t sure where to post this - since there’s no “Agro” topic as such - rather than this “Cartoon Connection” topic - so I thought id leave this in here… :
Not a bad idea.
I dare say a lot of Millennials will watch.
A sad day for all who (like me) grew up watching Agro in the morning
Moreso for me when he was on Wombat… he could be VERY cheeky sometimes!
This one cracks me up!
I watched him every Saturday morning with Fiona McDonald then Jill Ray on BTQ7 (Seven’s Super Saturday) in the early 80’s. Live TV at it’s best and then through the 90’s on B105.
My earliest memory!
I guess this means the Agro Late show Seven was working on for this year may be cancelled?
Agro will never be gone while we have his videos of him being a rude little dude ! But Jamie bought agro to life and he was awesome !
RIP Jamie . Rest easy now.
Can I just say the amount of deaths we have since the start of the year has been has been insnsbe ? Why can’t we just let death take the bad guys in the world ![]()
I loved Agro’s Cartoon Connection in the 1990s. Great morning viewing.
Am so glad that there are youtube clips with Dunn being cheeky ![]()
The signpost and logo graphics appear to be mid-1999?
So, in 1998 the show was just retooled and renamed Cartoon Connection?
Agro’s Cartoon Connection ended on 19 December 1997 after which it was retooled as Cartoon Connection.
Prior to 1990, Agros Cartoon Connection was Cartoon Connection hosted by Michael Horrocks and Alex Wileman. Michael Horrocks went on to host Video Smash Hits with Enily Symons (Home And Away) and Alex Wileman went on to present Lotto draws in NSW.
Agro was originally featured on children’s TV show, Wombat throughout the 1980s with Jill Ray, Gayle and Gillian Blakeney, Rob Elliot and Eric Summons (probably best remembered for portraying Detective Summons)
From 1 May, the ice cream will be available for $5, with 50 cents from each sale donated to (the Children’s Hospital Foundation Queensland), which Dunn supported throughout his career.
To mark the launch, the KIIS 97.3 breakfast team will broadcast live from Wendy’s Milk Bar at Forest Lake on 1 May, inviting listeners and families to join the tribute.
