They did repeatedly yesterday on Sunrise as well.
Not sure this is a major deal. It’s not like it’s a sports match or reality show and can really be spoiled.

It should be live tonight instead of being taped and aired a week later.
Perth’s Christmas Pageant is always taped to air in the week and on Christmas Day

On this, I’m sure this was the first year it aired on the Thursday following the event rather than the next night (Sunday) as has been the case for many years.
Isn’t Carols in the Domain normally live though? Obviously, it’s not this year. So is this different?
It’s always been pre-recorded. The Wollies Carols in the domain

it was normally shown live on Saturday nights though? Usually the last Saturday before Christmas Eve Up until the last couple of years when they started the delayed telecast?

Looking back at recent years schedules the broadcasts were on the same day as the event until 2021 when cricket interfered.

I’m not sure why they wouldn’t just put it live on a multi-channel. Oh, thats right ratings?
Essentially since 2020, they’ve been broadcasting it on Christmas Eve Eve… which was what Sam Mac kept saying when he was covering the rehearsals on Sunrise last week.
Trying to establish a new tradition? It can’t be on Christmas Eve itself as Carols by Candlelight has that spot.
Looks like before that they were trying a move from the Saturday before Christmas (which was the case for many years) to the Sunday, probably for maximum ratings.
IIRC, weren’t 2020’s carols a recorded event due to covid restrictions anyway?

Test cricket from Perth finishing at 9pm AEDT made that a bit unlikely, even if they cared about it being live, to be fair.
Without that, sure - not like they’re showing BBL on a Saturday still even with the lesser schedule.
Although with how I see the production of Carols in the Domain in any case, compared to the Melbourne carols - they may as well tape it, especially if the 2020 ones still got decent numbers on TV watching. Always had a different vibe to it, to me.
