Most comments I saw on Twitter regarding tonight’s telecast were negative. This tweet was pretty damning:
So many Christmas grinches every year, bagging Carols in the Domain and Carols by Candlelight.
Just relax and enjoy the show or switch off.
People literally watch the carols every year just to make fun of them, there is even a carols bingo on Twitter every year.
Sir, this a media discussion forum.
Well in that case, I enjoyed most of the performances. Was a great telecast, and well produced.
Why don’t Nat & Kochie present from the stage? It looks silly and disconnected, almost like a green screen.
The Carols in the Domain EP is the entertainment producer from Sunrise. It’s the one show a year he EP’s.
It’s been like that for years and I imagine it’s got a lot to do with not having to keep moving on and off stage for the acts.
You can see the acts setting up or leaving the stage in the background while Nat and Kochie are talking.
The 2023 Woolworths Carols in the Domain will be held on Saturday, December 16. It will be pre-recorded and shown at a later date, due to Seven’s live coverage of the first cricket test between Australia and Pakistan from Perth (December 14-18).
Reserved seat tickets are now on sale via Ticketbooth website.
Why not have this on Saturday 23 December? And am getting tired of Seven being home of the pre-record.
And Melbourne/ Nine can still have thei Carols a day later on Christmas Eve.
I imagine it will be Saturday 23 December, which will avoid clashing with Carols by Candlelight on Christmas Eve. Could easily have been live but may not suit the organisers. Traditionally it’s been held the Saturday about a week before Christmas.
They could put it on a multichannel.
Pre-recorded again due to cricket commitments
They forgetting about Multi Channels here
What is the point of having Multi Channels if they not using them?
They can air both the Cricket and Carols at the Same time
Why split the audience?
People who like to watch the cricket they can, the people who like to watch the Carols they can
Its about giving us a choice
Part of it is because unlike Channel Nine which produces Carols By Candlelight, Carols In The Domain is produced by ActiveTV.
As for the host to replace Kochie I reckon probably Sam Mac with Natalie Barr. If they want a dorky, cringey host.
Larry Emdur?
They’re obviously going to want to platform Shirvington for this family event. If Nat is there, he without question will be the co-host.
I swear Seven said last year “next year it will be hosted live”? or is just my memory
I wish they would choose a different set of hosts then the Sunrise crew which they have used for years. But to stay with tradition they will probably choose Nat and Shirvo.
