The Goonellabah property looks like it is subdivided into three sections.
The other two are currently vacant and up for rent

There are a couple of Mt Lofty’s around the country so most of the Broadcasters refer to the Adelaide TV sites as Crafers which the name of the little town over the back of the hill behind the TV towers. Lots of vineyards are nearby which makes it a very picturesque place for a drive. Another lovely little Adelaide Hills place near the TV is Stirling.
And that it’s coming up to 10 years now since the Nine brand became the pre-eminent brand here in Ntb NSW.
Even then, in other locations, they’ve mostly replaced the “NBN Television” signage with a mix of “NBN News” and the multi channels logos, but no Nine signage.
What a dump. Looks like it hasn’t been updated since the early 90s.
They used the dot less blue and white NBN News branding when they were at Erina Heights way beyond the dot less era.
Yes, I remember that too…. looks like they moved out of there somewhere around 2018/2019 but as above still dotless then.
And now, because no one asked for it…a video version of my trip around the transmitters of the Upper Hunter. Very basic editing, done in ClipChamp.
With less than a week to go, engineers at The Los Angeles Switch bring up the multiple circuits from Rod Laver Stadium for delivery to ESPN Bristol and the US Tennis Channel.

Thanks! Thinking of doing one for Sydney and one for Newcastle.
Does anyone know the state of the transmission towers on Mt Alexandra with the fires a large area were not able to get TV reception I’ve heard that the fires impacted the site putting TV & Radio services off-air, I remember when the Black Saturday fires impacted Mt Tassie back in 2009 the whole site was destroyed.
Id say thats what’s happened here, there is no comms from the site backup or otherwise. It just dropped dead on our internal system about 7:20 last night no backup attempt from UPS nothing
I came across these photos of the current state of the Bendigo transmitter site at Mt Alexander after the fires passed through with most parts of the viewing & listening area having no national or commercial radio & TV services, Will be weeks before they return but If there are people living north of Bendigo they could point their antennas towards Mt Major to get reception.
These were posted here and discussed but I will leave up the post for posterity:
that brings back memories - especially those bastard stairs at the back… absolute health hazard those things!
I’ve seen photos of the damage to the Commercial TV site at Mt Alexander. The entire ceiling is burnt out and I’m not even sure the building itself can be saved. Been there since 1961.
It’ll be interesting to see if any back-up transmitter of reasonable power output can be installed, and it may need to use a different tower or location.
Saw this too - does this message from WIN look a bit like “we have no f—in idea when we will be able to repair this mess” to you?
Its not WINs fault, I imagine 7 and 10 probably wouldn’t know any better either.
Oh no, totally agree. Just highlighting the scale of the damage, it’s just not possible to even put a time frame on repair (if you can call a near-total rebuild a repair)

In the days of yore there existed commercial TV RF Techs who would be all over Mt Alexander by now - all mostly gone. BAI still have crews as do Kordia who have NZ crews. It will be interesting to see who actually gets the work, possibly via the sites insurer(assuming it is even insured).
