The builders would have to double check that all of their measurements were centimetre perfect.
Nine News Melbourne
Does Foxtel have its own broadcast van?
Doubt it. Maybe for Sky News?
Seven hired out an external chopper this morning for its Vic Flood Coverage. Seems too look similar to the of HSV7 one back in 2016.
No. Sky News would have a whole bunch of LiveU units and if any OB would need doing they’d hire in.
How many studios does QTQ/TCN have?
I know that GTV has 4 (TOSS, Regional, News/SFS) NWS/STW has 2 (News/TOSS) and NBN/NTD have one. I know that TCN has at least 3 and QTQ has at least two, can I be corrected?
5 at TCN (including the today soft set, which can be run independently).
And GTV also has that other studio that used to be used for WB kids or something.
Three at WIN: Studio 1, Studio 2 and Studio 3 (AKA Coniston Pub).
It was converted into office room some time ago. Only 4 now.
I thought it had gone. No one here could confirm.
When GTV9 747 Burke Street first opened, that studo use to be home to Kids WB, The Sunday Footy Show and Footy Classifieds. 9 News and ACA came from the larger studio.
With that studio now dismantled and gone, it would be difficult for ACA to more presentation back to Melbourne (it that were to occur) as the sports programmes are now based adjacent the news set.
No they are not.
There are four studios at GTV. TOSS, Regional, News and SFS. Kids WB in its last years was on the same floor inbetween the News and SFS set.
- TOSS is home to LIVE crosses during Today/Today Extra.
- Regional is home to LIVE crosses to the newsroom during afternoon/evening bulleins.
- News is where the news is presented from
- SFS is where Footy Classified/Sunday Footy Show is presented from.
The first two is done on the second floor (where the newsroom is) while News and Sunday Footy Show/Footy Classified is done on ground floor*. Kids WB was done on the ground floor before being turned into office space.
There is room next to the news set on the right of it where elements of Footy Classified is stored. If you move them to another area, then ACA could have a identical set built on the right of the news set so if Deb was in Melbourne etc. ACA could be presented from GTV.

Thanks, what is TOSS an abbreviation for?
Think there was a misunderstanding. The sports shows are adjacent to the news set.
Having ACA in the mix would make it harder to prepare in advance for Footy Classified.
They’d probably need to reconfigure that space into a neutral set (like the Sydney soft set) so that set pieces don’t need to be moved in and out.
I’m confused, So news and the sports programmes don’t come from the one open studio? I was in there around 2015. Have they now renovated and separated this space?
From my understanding this is one large studio that can accommodate two presentation areas. Both are just sectioned off between (News) and (Sport). Previously it was News and ACA.
hearing whispers serious negotiations are beginning between Brisbane city council and the networks to get them off mt cootha.
Oh wow really?
They’re probably not going to leave without some form of compensation and a place to move to (assuming closer to CBD).
TVQ in particular just needs a newsroom and a sales office. Pretty much nearly all other functions have been taken over by Sydney.
