ITV1 World Cup, ITV2 Love Island. It’s a recipe for disaster.

ITV1 World Cup, ITV2 Love Island. It’s a recipe for disaster.
It has happened before.
Unhappy?
Probably because TNT has broadcast its final season as UEFA cups’ rightsholder.
Nope. They still have the rights next year.
Also, we have a thread for sports related discussions.
We don’t, I’m afraid.
There’s a rights thread and a presentation thread. There isn’t for day-to-day linear programming decisions.
Which would be related to rights…
After conferring with VAR, I’m comfortable if future discussions like this go in the International Sports Presentation topic.
What I don’t want to see in there js scheduling minutiae for competitions and what foreign channels individual games will be on, because frankly no one here cares. Those will be deleted on sight.
Stories of the scale like the one above should be the bar for posting about.

(CEO Priya) Dogra said C4 was pushing ahead with the root-and-branch review she ordered when installed in the role, which “will require sharper, often harder choices about where we focus, how we compete and how we operate.”
This comes as C4 contends with what it called a “challenging” TV advertising market, which saw an overall 4% drop in revenue across the sector in 2025.
Against this backdrop, Channel 4 Corporation revenues were £1.03bn (US$1.38bn), down 1% year on year, while total advertising revenues declined by 2% as C4 said it outperformed the wider TV market.
It said it closed 2025 with a £10m pre-tax deficit, broadly consistent with the £12m deficit, post exceptional items, reported in its 2024 annual report.
Streaming viewing minutes in 2025 increased by 15% to 72.8bn. Among 16- to 34-year-olds, more than half of all C4 viewing (53%) came from streaming, which the broadcaster said is the highest level among UK commercial broadcaster-backed VoDs.

Iconoclast Piers Morgan in talks to return to Australian TV
British firebrand broadcaster Piers Morgan has told Mumbrella he is in talks to bring a version of his Uncensored show to Australian TV.
Speaking after his appearing on stage at the London Podcast Show, Morgan reference his free-to-air deal with Channel 5 in the UK where a weekly 90-minute package of Uncensored is screened.
When asked about the prospect of that happening in Australia, Morgan said: “We’re actually talking right now about maybe doing the same over there. So Uncensored could be seen in some form again on Australian TV.”
Sky News Regional or 7 if anything
There is no way 10 or 9 would take him
Well, Channel 5 is owned by Paramount… who also own Channel 10. So I guess it’s not entirely out of the question.
Swap News+ with Piers at 6, then use that local quota on morning news again??? /j
I mean, it’s Ellisons’ Paramount, they’re more than happy to export that sour face elsewhere. There’s a slot on late night opening up too, I’ve heard…
Why? Surely we have enough deadshits in Australian media without having to bring him into the picture…
They either pay 5 or have a shared ad revenue deal to air it 11-12:30am on Friday nights. News UK does a similar thing at the same time on channel 4 with Chris Evan’s Show.
I’m sure 10 would love to get paid or do a deal for airtime.
No broadcaster managed to reach 1m viewers in the 9pm hour last night. Only the fourth time this has ever happened.
