And the middle-aged men on Britain celebrate.

ITV announces the commission of Farming for Love, a brand-new dating series based on global hit, Farmer Wants a Wife.

Produced by Naked, a Fremantle label, the 6 x 60’ series follows a group of single farmers on a quest to find their perfect match

The 2×60’ doc, produced by Australian prodco Prospero Productions, coincides with the 25th anniversary of the death of British backpacker Peter Falconio, who was murdered by Bradley John Murdoch in the Australian outback in 2001.

Principal production funding came from Screen Australia in association with Screenwest and Lotterywest. Sphere Abacus is handling international distribution.

Surprised this wasn’t picked up here (that I know of?) given it’s been quite a topical story of late, couldn’t seen this on Nine or something.

Yeah. We need more shit content on our screens. I’m sure 10 will get it given their Channel 5 link.

Not sure why we still think this is the case, it’s produced by an external prodco ITN, who can sell to whoever is buying.

On 5 ≠ on 10.

The same week the Poms bless us with the return of Mock The Week, they give us this shit. Why?

What’s old is new again.

With a British port of SNL down the line.

Two channels with somewhat the same premise - Showcase & Max - folded back into One. Pretty smart.

Now on Stan
