Detective drama Endeavour (the prequel to Inspector Morse) has been renewed for a fourth season. The series airs on 7TWO here.

Whilst the 5USA trailer style is a direct rip off of the Film4 trailer style.

Does anyone know if Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway from itv will be airing in Australia?

I’m sure they have screened it on one of the digital channels before.

Ripper Street will finish with the fifth season next year.

Shouldn’t that be posted in Hatches, Matches and Dispatches?

Thunderbirds Are Go! has been renewed for the third season of 26 episodes.

Sky 1 in the UK has commissioned Spelling Star based on the original Ten series The Great Australian Spelling Bee. I didn’t realise that the format was an Australian original.

Sky 1 to launch brand new talent show, Spelling Star

Created by Endemol Shine Australia, Spelling Star had been a huge hit for Network Ten who have just commissioned a second series. The format has been among Endemol Shine Group’s highlights in Cannes where the format made its international launch last year at MIPCOM.

Period detective drama ‘Grantchester’ has been renewed for a third season, ABC is currently airing season two on Friday nights.

The Musketeers series 3 will be the show’s last

A third series was first announced way back in February 2015 - but it has now been confirmed that the next 10 episodes will bring the swashbuckling show to an end.

Surprised it got a third season really - great theme tune but not much beyond that.

Scott and Bailey AXED

ITV hit show Scott and Bailey has been axed, despite being a ratings winner.

The crime drama - which started back in 2011 and is now on series five - stars Suranne Jones and Lesley Sharp.

The detective series will end after current three-episode run despite putting in more than five million viewers last week

Show bosses want it to “bow out at the top” rather than see the numbers slide, according to The Sun.

Currently showing here on ABC on Friday nights.

The reboot of animated series Danger Mouse (currently shown here on ABC3) has been renewed for a second season.

Oscar Pistorius: The Interview is on ITV on Friday night 24 June, then it will be shown on M-Net and SuperSport in South Africa. No doubt it will appear in Australia somewhere.

Did you guys ever get The Crystal Maze - a 90’s game show hosted by Richard O’Brien then Ed Tudor Pole in which 6 contestants played games in 4 zones then caught tickets in the Crystal Dome. If not this will mean nothing to you but if so IT’S COMING BACK!!! It regularly tops the list of shows people want to come back and the best shows of all time, and despite being repeated continuously in the 20 years since it ended
nobody has been brave enough to attempt a revival.

Until now.

They’ve chosen a great host too if rumours are correct - David Tennant. Yes, The Doctor. It’s returning in October for Stand up to Cancer with a celeb special (probably filmed at the experience which opened in London this year), and will go to series if successful.

I don’t think it’s ever screened in Australia. Never heard of it.

You missed out. Stephen Merchant got the nod instead of David Tennant, which isn’t quite as exciting, but producers are really talking up the desire to revive the series permanently so hopefully they do it justice.

I suspect it will have to venture into international markets for a revival to be viable as a large set is required to play host to the Maze, and being able to film international versions there would help spread the cost. The celeb special is being filmed in the “live experience” set which was funded through a crowdfunding scheme - it should be fine for a one-off revival special but I’d be surprised if it was suitable for a full reboot.

BBC has lost the rights to The Great British Bake Off to Channel 4 and many fans there are not happy, because it means they will be watching ads.
Could a similar situation happen here? The nearest equivalent could be Ten losing MasterChef to Nine over rights fees.
