I am amazed that Aldi do not get sued more often. They rip of Kelloggs, Arnott’s and so many other brands.

I’m thinking of opening a discount supermarket called “Adli” to see how long before Aldi sue.

I wouldn’t use the slogan “Good. Different” but “Kettle. Black”

Don’t send a ute to do a HiLux job

Probably one of the best SMPs doing the rounds at the moment. Saatchi & Saatchi - nice work.

Even the tagline - ‘an unbreakable connection’ is a cute play on words.

No amount of advertising will ever make me buy a ute.

Particularly when the Mazda “You Do Ute” comes on… i think to myself “no thanks, I do sedans” (as I drive a Mazda 6).

You can go your own way.

These brands probably are the manufacturers of Aldi branded products.

It’s been known (but not 100% confirmed) for some time that Smiths produces Aldi’s chips.

True. But using Aldi’s market power to force businesses to surrender some of their copyright material is still poor form.

I can see Aldi talking to Kelloggs “Make this product using a style pf packaging that resembles your product or we will get Uncle Tobys or Sanitarium to do it”

When you walk through an Aldi you can be forgiven for thinking we don’t have enforceable intellectual property rights. Copying the packaging of a competitor is not very creative.

It’s more “Good. Same” than “Good. Different”

You make some very valid points.

And yet one thing that’s very noticeable these days is the number of known brands in their stores. Quite remarkable.

If I was a start-up manufacturer of potato crisps and I enter the market with my new range… of course I’m gonna have salt ‘n’ vinegar in purple packaging. Nothing wrong with that.

Aldi is all about making it easier for customers. The trouble with plain packaging is not that it looks bland, but that everything looks the same.

I’d say pink.

Salt and vinegar chips are tools of the devil.

If salt and vinegar chips are tools of the devil, then I might as well have raised Satan with how much I eat of them. Best chip flavor by far.

No consistency in colour schemes worldwide though

This has to be said.

Did somebody day KFC?

No. Fuck off.

Cue Cola with a little piggy back marketing. Cute and simple tie-in that also works on the fact both brands featured the same colors.

No need to even ask the Colonel.

More of the 7-11 meta merchandise line. I had to get the cooler bag as my other one broke.

Also, to the people who make bucket hats, please make them for larger heads - not all of us are pinheads. At least the V promo bucket hats are comfy and do fit my big fat head.

Lowes merch is a new level that I didn’t know existed.

It was for charity.

Also, don’t knock Lowes.

Sanitarium launched the 2025 TVC for Weet-Bix last night, featuring Matildas star and brand ambassador Mary Fowler. There are three versions, shown here is the 30 second version.

I agree, seriously.

Sometimes they just fit better than brand name clothes, particularly shorts. I have a $15 pair of Big W “Circuit” branded shorts that are more comfortable and better fitting than anything else in my wardrobe.

I can’t imagine they’d sell anything that fits me

Yeah a bit hard if you have a TV for a head!

Having a Radio for a head is a bit easier in that respect, they are smaller!
