What if we pronounce it slightly different, and produce it at Manuka Oval?

According to this:

it would seem that they wouldn’t even want us calling our oval ‘Manuka Oval’…

It’s the cheese most Aussies would choose to take with them if stranded on a deserted island – no questions asked.

But did you know that tasty cheese doesn’t exist outside of Australia and New Zealand?

I’ve never seen the cheese before on Kiwi shelves. Maybe they sell it in speciality stores?

Well it is named after the suburb…

I wonder if they’ll want the suburb renamed too? :smiling_imp:

Odds on how long until The Australian blames this on cancel culture?

Manuka isn’t a suburb. It’s a name for the commercial area within the suburb of Griffith.

Years ago I thought the Catholic cathedral was in Manuka as it is across the road from the old Capitol cinemas. I later found out that the cathedral is in Forrest. The names of the commercial area being different to the suburb can be confusing. Eg, Greenway is address of all the businesses in the Tuggeranong town centre.

Stand corrected, always heard the area called Manuka so always thought it was a suburb.

I find it more confusing when the town centre suburb and the district share a name.

When I say Phillip or Greenway, you know exactly where I’m talking about. But if I say Gungahlin or Belconnen - am I talking about the suburbs or the districts?

Woden is another; businesses there (in & around the Westfield) are in the suburb of Phillip.

At least in this case there’s Woden Valley to refer to the larger area encompassing several suburbs.

Yeah, it’s just called Cheddar instead

according to wiki:

Cheddar is so commonly found that the name is rarely used: instead, Cheddar is sold by strength alone as e.g. “mild”, “tasty” or “sharp”

Considering Cadbury had vegemite flavoured chocolate for a while it’s not the most far fetched April Fools idea. :stuck_out_tongue:

Saw the VB Solar Exchange logo during Nine’s NRL telecast this afternoon. Under the deal, you can exchange $30 worth of extra solar credit on their power bill for a slab of Victoria Bitter.
