Does NBC have no one in Australia, or even the Asia-Pacific region? Wonder if they could of crossed to a Seven reporter like they’ve done before - even if it’s from Perth.
The special NSW/ACT edition of Nightlife has finished up coverage for now - will continue to have updates - moving onto movies and other topics now.
In the past NBC had Sara James as a freelance reporter in Aus, however she may of not been available. And I’m guessing that most of Seven has now packed up for the night.
Not with the usual news and current affairs (bar ACA) V/O, with their network female and 9Go V/O instead - who actually also did the Tom and Alicia one which is still running at least 9Now (must’ve been on-call available or perhaps at TCN early this evening doing reads).

IMO though, this is where I jump off, Nine getting a bit carried away and appearing to now be looking at themselves in regards to this story…
Wonder if Seven will have someone available for NBC Nightly News tomorrow morning if needed. Looks a bit weird crossing to London for something that is happening in Australia.
In addition to 2GB bringing in Ben Fordham to interrupt NRL coverage for rolling news coverage as new developments occurred, ABC 702 Sydney broke away from NRL at half time in the 7:30 game for the press conference while other ABC radio stations around the country appeared to stay with the NRL and had some details in a half time news update.
Not really any different from the networks here using correspondents in the UK or US to cover stories in the Middle East or Asia. They are the resources dedicated to covering news happening internationally.
And I’m not really sure what more a reporter in Australia could have added anyway. They are just reading off other local media sources.
Honestly I’ve been in my room doing my assignments for uni so I naturally didn’t visit any media sites, but just reading through this thread, very sad to hear. Gotta say the police response was swift and quick. So I am glad that they managed to take him down before it could have gotten any more worse.
That poor baby. , now without a mother.
Given the coverage that will most likely be on tomorrow, definetly will be avoiding any media sites and tv channels.
I believe all channels did a good job but think they now need to lay off in respect to those who died. I feel sad that there’s so much hate in Australia at present. Reading the PM’s post on FB some of the comments are vile and disgusting. It’s his fault, migrants or boat people committed this horrible crime. The racism is horrendous when they don’t even know the details of the killer.
Thought this might be a good opportunity to remind everyone that if you need help, no matter how much you are affected by all of the events of today, support is available
Hopefully everyone can get a good’s night sleep, and that tomorrow is a better day for all.
Thoughts are with all those affected, especially the loved ones of those who are now deceased and wounded, along with first responders and those working around the clock to save lives.
Nice touch with adding those numbers and website for those in need in here. You just never know how some are feeling. Just a reminder on how fragile life is. And good to look after each other in here.

Sky News is still having rolling coverage at 11.45pm. Peter Stefanovic is hosting it.
