A lot of Brits in Bondi.
Also fits into UK news about most of their cops being unarmed and whether that should change.
7plus live in Perth is about 6 - 7 mins behind on my browser
Stunning world wide coverage.
Feel like the Australian networks apart from 9 aren’t nailing it.
ABC Melbourne had literally a 2 minute report. Like it’s not good enough from the national broadcaster.
Fair enough 7 had to go to live sport. You can understand that. But ABC is meant to be here for moments like this.
Live news on a (probably) otherwise quiet weekend morning? Not really that strange.
7plus should have a national feed available of 7NEWS Sydney.
CNN ran a story earlier, it should have made the East Coast at least, West Coast might still be on the repeats of Primetime
Same with lots of Aussies in UK.
Yeh CNN has been covering. Not as extensive as
UK channels
Also should mention radio. I logged on to
2gb app. Mark Levy and Ben Fordham doing an outstanding job.
How’d other Sydney radio stations go?
Slightly controversial take - but I think this is reasonable. The breaking nature of the news has passed, ABC is unlikely to run eyewitness accounts like the commercials might (and have) and there is unlikely to be anything new to add.
9 Reporter: “We’ve just seen a police mobile unit rock up.” Who says “rock up” on news coverage?
Why should the abc run eyewitness accounts? I think that’s exactly what they should be doing.
ABC now have a second reporter on the ground - Melissa McKay from ABC Darwin.
Give her a break. She’s doing her best.
abc
They seem to be pushing the “armed officer” thing like its unusual or not normal - they may not realise that all our cops are armed on duty
BBC now has a special online stream. Currently showing live shot of a street near the shopping centre.
