From my estimates and summary. The indent only happened shortly after 6.30am ETA

SEVEN broke into programming (in Sydney and Melbourne) around 7.20pm.

ABC / SKY were around 7.25pm (with a news ticker at first) then full coverage from 7.30pm

NINE broke into programming around 7.40pm

TEN broke into programming right on 8.00pm

SBS I believe had updates but broke into programming around 10.05pm to cover the press conferences.

The alleged gunmen were father and son.

leave it to the authorities and the courts to do that. Not some partisan commentators on Sky News trying to get political mileage out of this tragedy.

They’re live everywhere except Perth now, who are running the coverage delayed. This is another reason why they’ll never be number 1 over there.

Tonight’s Sydney premiere of Avatar: Fire And Ash has been cancelled, and expect other events over the coming days to be either toned down, postponed or cancelled such as the Ashes test on Wednesday, Carols In The Domain, local Christmas celebration events and Big Bash, NBL and A-League games.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some sort of minute’s silence at Big Bash, Adelaide Test and some sort of special ceremony at SCG Test or even the Australian Open, also given the global headlines and wide impact.

As well as some sort of fundraising or coming together event in Sydney (televised or not) some time down the track, to support victims and the broader community healing.
