While most of us have spent 2020 working from home, adventurer-extraordinaire Todd Sampson has been lucky enough to call some pretty exciting places, his office. Think exotic villages of Africa, sumo training grounds in Japan and the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

From Tuesday, 15 September at 7.30pm, take a welcome (and COVID safe) journey to foreign lands from the safety of your home, with a brand new season of Todd Sampson’s Body Hack.

Season four sees Todd continue his crazy escapades, all in the name of science, as he takes on the discipline of Japanese martial arts, an all-American demolition derby and visits the cultural home of Voodoo in Benin.

Not only will this series educate you on the brain’s relationship with the body, but this time around, will provide some much needed travel porn into some fascinating far away lands.

Todd Sampson’s Body Hack season 4 is an Essential Media production for Network 10 with principal production investment from Screen Australia in association with Screen NSW.

Doesn’t this show have an MA 15+ rating? Not sure how that kind of content can air at 7.30 (unless if the press release had the wrong time).

Good to see they have continued with Tuesday nights after it aired there last season and for its first (S2 went to Thursday nights), but this is the first time its aired in the earlier 7:30 timeslot.

Yeah, not sure such shows can air at 7.30pm which is considered a family-friendly timeslot. Either each episode will have to be edited to fit the M classification, or it should be shown at 8.30pm.

Tonight’s Voodoo episode is classified MA which is why the show was moved to 8.30pm.

Very intense show tonight. Some parts were particularly hard to watch.

“Still couldn’t help but think…single use plastic”

Have to commend Ten for sticking with this one just like HYBPA. Could have easily axed it after the first season.

From MediaWeek:

While Todd Sampson’s Body Hack won’t be back in 2021, McGarvey said there will be something new featuring Sampson.

Strange that is listed as returning in the Upfronts

I noticed that it was included in the list of returning shows, but not mentioned in the release anywhere.

They probably wanted to do more but the pandemic and restrictions on international travel make it impossible.

According to TV Tonight

A Network 10 spokesperson said “Todd Sampson will definitely be back on 10 in 2021. Due current travel restrictions, we are working on what that will look like.”

As I reported yesterday, Screen Australia provided funding for four episodes. Only 3 had been completed when COVID travel restrictions came into place. With the restrictions unlikely to be lifted anytime soon, it is expected 10 will use the remaining funding for a modified project filmed domestically.
