Nielsen reports that Bluey is the most watched TV show by American dads 4th overall after NBA Playoffs co-viewing with kids.

Ahead of #FathersDay, @nielsen dug into what dads are really watching and #Bluey made the top 5.

Eight fan-favourite episodes will be shown on the big screen, starting with Spain on July 23, before opening in cinemas in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland.

Only a third of the episodes the next three programs have, almost all of which are only seven minutes long, and yet there’s billions more viewing minutes for Bluey than any other show. Talk about rewatch value!

(This is from someone with two kids under four who could quote 3/4 of the episodes off by heart :laughing:)

BBC’s annual report mentions Bluey 14 times

BBC Commercial, including intra-group transactions, achieved record revenue of £2,155 million in 2024/25 (2023/24: £1,859 million), driven by growth in the now wholly-owned BritBox International and in consumer products, with the licensing of the Bluey brand in particular.

Its performance was led by global hit Bluey, as the animation series became the most- watched show in the US across all genres in 2024, with over 55 billion minutes watched. It won a string of major awards, including a BAFTA and an Emmy, and a feature-length film, funded and distributed by BBC Studios, was announced in partnership with Disney+, and is set to arrive in cinemas in 2027. Bluey participated in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in 2024 once again, and the Bluey’s World immersive experience opened in Brisbane in November, as well as a raft of licensing deals for clothing, toys, books and a coin collection.

Bluey blow over Bunnings: ABC axes favourite episode on iview

The ABC has infuriated families by pulling a popular episode of cartoon favourite Bluey because of a commercial partnership the show has with warehouse giant Bunnings.

The much-loved Hammerbarn episode from season 2 disappeared from the national broadcaster’s iview platform in recent days, just as Bunnings reignited an in-store campaign in honour of the juggernaut series.

Bunnings spokeswoman Melissa O’Neill said the company was disappointed the broadcaster had chosen to remove the episode, in which the Heeler family visit their local hardware store.

Concerned viewers who contacted the ABC Help centre were told the broadcaster was not involved in the deal between the hardware store and BBC Studios, which holds the merchandising rights for the series.

“This campaign is a BBC Studios and Bunnings partnership. As the ABC cannot align with a commercial brand or partnership, the Bluey episode ‘Hammerbarn’ will temporarily be unavailable on ABC iview while the Bunnings Hammerbarn campaign is live,” an ABC representative said.

“However ‘Hammerbarn’ will return to ABC iview at a later date.’’

Well luckily I happened to tape the episode back in 2020 when it aired so it’s not gone forever. Just part of my many TV recordings I made during the pandemic.

According to Nine News, the episode will return once the Bunnings promotion campaign has finished.

Kids get life lessons from watching Bluey, Central Queensland University research shows

Aussie TV cartoon mega-hit Bluey has not only charmed and entertained kids around the world, it could also deliver young fans lifelong mental health benefit.

Groundbreaking new research has found that the adventures of the Heeler family modelled resilience and showed kids how to overcome adversity.

The study by CQUniversity researcher Kelly Bohl is believed to be the first academic deep-dive into the psychology of Bluey.

Ms Bohl analysed 150 episodes of the animated juggernaut, mapping each episode against a framework assessing children’s resilience.

The lessons from Bluey highlighted that resilience was a learned skill and something that Bluey repeatedly showed, the Townsville-based researcher said.

Filmed across Australia, Bluey Fancy Restaurant invites kids to recreate Bluey and Bingo’s iconic Fancy Restaurant at home for their parents – each with their own unique take. This series features real families as kids whip up some culinary creations in the kitchen and guide their grownups through a playful, romantic dining experience.

It’s good news that Aussie fans finally get to see Bluey Book Reads legally. The videos on YouTube have been geoblocked to Australia since launch.

The new Bluey $1 coins will be available from 8:30am on Thursday, October 16.

They will be released online on the Mint via an EQL ballot, in person at the Mint Shop in Deakin, over the phone at the Mint Contact Centre, and through participating authorised distributors.

People can register for the ballot from 8:30am on Monday, October 13 until 8:30am on Wednesday, October 15.
