Bluey

In the episode titled Show and Tell, Bluey’s dad bought a surfboard from a Surfer who was voiced by Mick Fanning.

In the latest episode Dragon, Kate Miller-Heidke voiced Chilli’s late mother in a dream sequence when she was remembering herself as a child.

Carrie played the Terriers’ Mum so she could come back for more eps like Hamish Blake did.

I noted a typo in the credits where she is listed as Terrier’s Mum. But there are three terriers so it should have been Terriers’ Mum.

Queensland Greats announced for 2023 - Ministerial Media Statements.

Mr Joe Brumm, Creator of Bluey was honoured on Queensland Day.

Joe Brumm is the creator, writer and showrunner of Bluey, the expertly produced animated children’s television series about a family of cattle dogs, set in Brisbane.

The success of Bluey has been incredible and is now spoken about as being as important a cultural export as Crocodile Dundee. In 2019 it was bought by Disney, who distribute it globally. The show is entirely produced in Queensland, by Queenslanders. Joe has personally hired and trained hordes of young graduate animators, arming them all with a CV and showreel that will set them up well for the rest of their careers.

C21 reports Disney+ is to add 10 more episodes of Bluey season 3 in the UK and Ireland from July 12. They feature voices of Rose Byrne and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

I’m interested to see how the cricket episode will translate in the US.

It’s a chance for them to learn something that culturally different. They seem to be fascinated by all the things that they’re not familiar with.

Looks like they’ve finished showing new episodes for the moment. Based on previous seasons of 52 episodes, there should be five more to go in Season 3. Are they saving them up for later in the year? Maybe they have a special Father’s Day episode in September?

The Courier-Mail’s QWeekend magazine today has a 4-page article looking behind the scenes at Bluey, including interviews with executive producer Daley Pearson and lead composer Joff Bush.

Daley said in the article that his team was taking a break after completing three seasons of Bluey, but there would be more new episodes down the track.

We are just going to get our heads on a bit, it’s been four or five years and we’ve made 154 episodes, it is kind of unprecedented to do that back-to-back. It was very intense … we are just coming to the end of season three and trying to think about what’s the best way to make it better.

We have all secretly agreed with each other that we wouldn’t keep making Bluey if it wasn’t as good as the one that came before, so we want to make sure we keep doing that.
