I think its most of them lol. What will happen with Binge, Kayo and Flash once Hubble tv starts?

Not all but most of them I believe, they’ve added them in drops like these ones that were added.

I don’t think movie channels are there, apart from LMN

My point is, is this basically just a rename of Streammotion? Or are they trying to combine all three services in to the one platform.

Streamotion is being renamed Hubbl, nothing much else will change with their apps.
Hubbl itself won’t be much (or anything) more than what you can already get via an Apple TV or Google TV - searching/watchlists/up next integrated across different services ‘bring together all your channels, shows and apps into one place’. They are also trying to throw in a (Optus-like) ‘Sub-hub’ option touting discounts for multiple services. They have reportedly yet to get all the streaming services onboard anyway.

While you’ll probably be right, we don’t know whether that’s right yet since details about the service and devices haven’t been released yet.

We kinda do, it’s just a localised version of Sky Glass (tv) and Sky Stream (plug-in ‘puck’ device)

From the above article -

My name is Alan and I am the head of comms at Foxtel Group / Hubbl.

In 2021, we announced we would be the exclusive distributor of Sky and Comcast’s Glass technology and Hubbl is our version of that for Australian consumers

It is TV technology powered by an entertainment operating system that creates a unified viewing experience, fusing together paid and free streaming into one simple user interface, along with many other compelling features.

https://corporate.comcast.com/press/releases/entertainment-os-1-sky-glass-sky-stream-personalized-features

Entertainment OS 1.1 will bring you Personal Playlists , a new ’Play’ voice command to help you play what you want to watch even quicker, more ways to find content from your favorite actors and directors, as well as enhanced Bluetooth features

Yet to see or hear about any real ‘compelling features’ though that I can’t already get similar elsewhere. The real (only?) draw will be people being able to get these on a subscription (free up front?) basis.

Do Cybershack give the same sort of coverage to every Smart TV they review/cover? They all do some kind of reporting back (so do the apps that you run on them)

While it’s important to point this stuff out, it needs to be done in a calm, rational way.

The only real compelling reason I can see getting if you are a big user of Foxtel/Hubbl. It strikes me as being significantly more prone to becoming E-Waste before it reaches the end of its useful life because it either locks you out without a subscription or Foxtel ditch support for the product.

Not sure, I don’t regularly follow it. Just found the article via Google search

Agree. I mainly linked the article to quote the Foxtel guy.

Yeah that too, and as for the ewaste… what’s happened to all those Foxtel Now boxes…? Sad truth with technology it gets abandoned or superseded so quickly sometimes…
