When I rewatched a year or so ago I thought Gretel was pretty poor the first series and it wasn’t really until the third she hit her stride. A big issue in that first series is she presents to the auditorium rather than the camera.
Well with the new ID checks to watch videos coming in December then why cant they?

Completely disagree, she didn’t take herself so seriously in the first season and you could see her having fun with the housemates, the audience and production staff. She had such energy and charisma that she had completely lost by the time 2005 had starting airing.

i watched episode one last night and i agree.
I suspect maybe the network was not as involved with season 1, and the pressure of being the host of the no 1 tv show in the country didn’t get to her until season 2.
Big Brother producers actively recruiting in local community groups. “Real people”. “True-blue local legends”. “Underdogs” etc…

Is the Us format still the Survivor in house setup only the Uk and Aus going back to the original format?
US and Canada are the only ones that ever used that format

I think different versions use elements of the US format
Brazil I think still has challenges for different nomination powers and immunity while allowing for strategy chat (like US/Canada/Ch 7 BBAus) - but the audience will vote on each eviction and the winner. The show is huge over there.
Frankly, I think a version of that format would work really well here.

Media industry barred from Big Brother reboot
This year’s Big Brother revival on 10 won’t feature anyone who works for, or has recently worked for, the wider media sector.
The decision is in stark contrast to previous iterations of the show, when radio hosts, creative agency employees, and other media workers peppered the cast.
(This year’s version) strictly states that anyone applying to be a housemate cannot be “an employee of, or in any way associated with, any television broadcaster, news or media organisation, including any web-based media or other online platform or outlet, either in Australia or elsewhere”.
Over the past two years, they must also “not have been an employee, officer, director or agent of the producer (Endemol Shine Australia), any television broadcaster, or any of their related companies, affiliates or licensees”. This rule also applies to members of applicants’ immediate families and those they live with.
Producers have been actively recruiting for participants in this year’s series, including in local Facebook community groups, asking for “real people with real stories”, “true-blue local legends”, “the unintentionally funny types”, “someone with a little sass”, “the wholesome ones everyone loves”, and “of course, the underdogs”.

Wonder if they will put people who are Youtubers in Australia but have say less than 100,000 subscribers .
I do wonder as much as I grew up with the original now we are so used to this forced drama made up bull from Married at First Sight ..
Could this end up not rating well because it is too dull ? Can you get interesting people to still have drama and fun without editing etc.
I am curious if I’m A Celeb Aus (which to be honest I have seen maybe one season years ago) is more like old Big Brother or are most of the conversations strategy now? I remember liking I’m a Celeb as they were kind of not your ultra famous celeb even though they were somewhat known.
