But didn’t they only nominate Ian because they were confident that he wouldn’t be voted out? I thought the idea was to put two popular people up against Kieran, in the hope that all the votes would go to Kieran.
I was very disappointed that Ian was eliminated. While Angela is definitely good television, and I know it’s only a game, but I do not like her. I hated that she laughed when Ian went home.
The Australian is reporting today that Seven is ‘poised’ to renew Big Brother for a second season. Apparently the show has delivered the network its biggest numbers in the past decade when it comes to reaching the 25 - 54 demo they’re now targeting.
I’ll be honest, I don’t like the show’s revamped format. I think the key changes Seven/Endemol made to it (becoming a challenge-based show and allowing the housemates to discuss nominations/strategies) have taken away the unique elements which made Big Brother the show it was and turned it into Survivor-lite. However, can’t deny that the show has been successful so far in doing what Seven wants it to do.
I personally don’t mind this change as it’s a sign of evolution for the show which is sorely needed if it wants to thrive, but ONLY if they can also incorporate audience engagement and live evictions along with it. The potential for the show to do well with both old (and loved) elements and new evolutionary format is massive. It could potentially get new people watching whilst also convincing diehard fans to return.
Australian Survivor last season the entire boot order leaked whilst it was filming. People worked it out based on social media posts around the time of filming with added insiders leaking info, betting odds etc. I’m sure Big Brother is no different given it’s pre-recorded.
Someone on the Behind Big Brother forums figured it out based on a promo that 7 aired for this season which shows a challenge with 7 people taking part.
I’m getting the feeling tonight may have been the timeframe when the house found out about the outside world Covid 19 issue. The shows tone has changed very quickly and I feel the letters from family was a slight cover up.
It would fit with about now because I think I saw there was something saying Day 17 earlier and they said it had been around 3 weeks that they’d been in there when the housemates were told.
Overall, I’m enjoying this even though it’s different to previous Big Brothers. I know a lot of people are trying to compare it to that and I think they’ll be disappointed when doing that. This one is currently more like a drama show with the added things like the challenges and Survivor/I’m A Celebrity type feel. Also a bit of science with seeing how people react and the manipulations which can be orchestrated by BB which wouldn’t have been possible if Australia was voting at this stage. Having it get to the final stages with Australia voting the winner will be good.
While the pace is fast, I think it’s good because each episode has a fair bit of drama and not enough time for boredom to set in.
They won’t show it. But you can see the subtle changes in the contestants behaviour. They have used the letters from family to try and cover up the emotions and shock on what’s going on in the outside world.
Who funnily enough was a “task producer” in the Ten era. So she was part of the team who did the daily tasks. No wonder why the whole series revolves around it lol
