Few things about Seven’s scheduling:
-
I assume the info about Weekend Sunrise beginning at 6am during the Winter Olympics is correct and not a typo.
-
It’s interesting that the weekday and weekend daytime portions will be presented differently. Kind of like it though - having the weekend coverage being presented from Beijing (assuming that doesn’t get reversed before the Olympics begin) will give it a different energy compared to the rest of the coverage.
-
Wonder how Seven will schedule The Summer Chill? IIRC, Seven squeezed in a couple of Front Bar specials during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics (with Olympics coverage airing on 7mate while that happened) so perhaps they’ll do that again whenever the competition schedule provides room for it.
May be a mistake. First weekend, Sunrise starting at 7a, in current schedule.
Updated schedule up to day 1 of competition.

Interesting choice, but not against it. Very insightful on ABC (obviously about cricket) and his emergency appearances during the Ashes.
I think he was on the coverage in 2018 too. Was very insightful then, expecting the same here.
Ah ok, wasn’t aware of that.
Description of Matt Shirvington:
I hold out hope he may do sport on Weekend Sunrise when he returns.
So does Griggs get weekends off? Or will the weekend 10am guys only host 2 hours? Which also poses a question about start times for Matt and Emma (which could differ weekdays to weekends)?
Jacqui confirmed on an Instagram story today that she is travelling to Beijing next week for Seven’s Winter Olympics coverage.
I think he was skier before he played cricket.
Yes that’s correct, but he’s only really known for his cricketing exploits.
She will need a couple of days to acclimatise given she is travelling from a very hot Melbourne to a very cold Beijing.

Around 25 people rallied outside the Seven’s headquarters in Sydney’s Martin Place on Friday to voice concerns about the broadcasting of the Olympics.
While I sympathise with the protesters, it’s too late now. They should have raised the concerns when Seven first announced it had acquired the rights.
And don’t forget Seven showed the 1980 Moscow Olympics when Australia joined several Western countries in a diplomatic boycott after the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
Are 7 hosting from Aus or The IBC? Job Griggs just posted on Insta that she’s packing for the games? Hopefully they actually have a ‘set’ and not the atrocity they had at the last Winter Games which really cheapened the coverage.
Seems like (from the press info Seven released a few days ago) that aside from the weekend daytime coverage, the rest of Seven’s coverage will be presented from Australia.
Nope.
The bloke has hosted some fairly significant events. Think that makes him experienced. His knowledge and research is excellent.
