Not The BBC News
Seconds into the opening titles for the BBC News at Six â and after the opening network and Scottish headlines â The One Show studio was put to air.
Presenters Clara Amfo and Alex Jones were seen and heard chatting with members of the programmeâs production team.
The presenters were also seen having a promotional photo taken and recording a short video for social media ahead of tonightâs live show.
The BBC News at Six was put back on air â with over two-and-a-half minutes of the programme missed.
Launched on Thursday but as this video noted in the description, it was tested in as early as July. Now apparently available on iPlayer between sunrise and sunset.
BBC NEWS CHANNEL LAUNCHES ON 9NOW
Yet nothing on Britbox, a platform the BBC owns and controls.
Will the launch of BBC News Channel on 9Now have any impact on the BBCâs deal with SBS? The latter shows the weeknight editions of the 6pm and 10pm news from BBC One.
the picture quality is great!
lovely to have easy access to it on TV - instead of casting it from my phone on BBC.com to the TV lol
Itâs on Foxtel and doesnât have any impact on the ABC using it for a strike day.
Itâs on two platforms (SBS only carries, as you said, BBC1 bulletins). Great. And thatâs all it is.
It might be nitpicking, but Britbox is operated by BBC Studios, which are the commercial entity, not the BBC broadly. Itâs also clear the focus of the platform is the distribution of their entertainment offerings, hence the name Britbox (as in British Boxset).
Who do you think is dealing with Nine? BBC studios.
I donât think itâs been on Foxtel for some time now.
Foxtel dropped it nearly 2 years ago. It remains only on Fetch.
Never said they werenât. Still doesnât change the fact that Britbox is focused on distributing British entertainment, not news content.
BBC NIâs Sunday politics show moves into a radio/podcast studio, as itâs now simulcasted on local radio and the streamers.

Before:
The BBCâs news operation is to cut costs by a steeper-than-expected 15%, with staff told to expect heavy redundancies.
The division, home to about a quarter of all BBC staff, is being saddled with one of the highest cost-cutting targets as the corporation attempts to cut as many as 2,000 jobs in the biggest downsizing of the public service broadcaster in 15 years.
The channelâs UK feed will split from its international core output for much of the day on Tuesday and Wednesday, between 9am and 6pm, to allow for dedicated domestic election programming.
Christian Fraser will anchor the coverage from Studio C, with politics guests featured every hour throughout the day.
Presenter Pria Rai will also be on hand to guide viewers through live political events as they happen.
The BBC says it intends to continue covering major global stories alongside the election, with the expanded political coverage sitting alongside its usual news agenda rather than replacing it entirely.
This is really sad. The BBC is a very valuable service, and much needed.
At the same time they canât be immune from the reality of media right now - which is having huge redundancies across the industry
People are chosing to abandon the license fee, and their revenue is down substantially
I still canât believe the UK pay a television licence.
