You might not recognise their names, but musical partners Adam Gock and Dinesh Wicks have been responsible for the heart-pumping moments on shows like MasterChef Australia, Married at First Sight, Travel Guides and LEGO Masters.
Last night, they were recognised at the 2024 Screen Music Awards as the most performed composers in Australia and overseas, overtaking Bluey composer Joff Bush.
Gock and Wicks have also won the award for Best Music for Unscripted and Reality Television Series for LEGO Masters, along with co-writers Anthony Ammar, David Bruggemann, Brontë Horder, David Huxtable, Richard LaBrooy, Adam Sofo, Mitch Stewart and Cassie To.
The tech giants must be pursued for a cut of their substantial revenue to fund journalism in order to fight disinformation and “navigate the dangerous world”, ABC chair Kim Williams has said.
and given that ABC has an open news exchange for the networks and supports them in their newsgathering (particularly in regional and remote areas).
Glorius 576p wasn’t it?
I’m not sure if this is the right thread, now we have had upfronts from all the broadcaster’s, which one do you think has the best line-up for 2025:
- ABC
- SBS
- Seven
- Nine
- 10
- Foxtel
UKTV has commissioned a pair of documentary series from Australia’s Prospero Productions – Brit Cops Down Under and The Legend of Outback Gold (working title).
Brit Cops Down Under is in post-production and will air on U&W in February 2025. The Legend of Outback Gold (working title) is in production and will air on U&YESTERDAY in early 2026.
There is another show I’m not sure how old it is but I found it on BBC brit (on fetch) Its called Emergency Rescue Down Under.
Andrew O’Keefe can ‘100 per cent be back on TV’ after drug convictions, showbiz expert declares
For publicist and celebrity manager Max Markson, the end of O’Keefe’s lengthy legal fight, with multiple drug convictions, represented the start of his next step.
“He can 100 per cent be back on TV. He can get back to the limelight. He can rebuild his career. He can be successful,” Mr Markson said.
“People love someone who’s gone bad and gets good again, and that’s what he’s got ahead of him.
“So, he’s gonna have a great future – a great future.”
Markson is aligning himself with O’Keefe. What a grub.
I wouldn’t be putting much on that, the guy’s obviously a hardcore addict so far down the rabbit hole. As far as I’m concerned he’s totally destroyed any sympathy he had. I’d be happy to never see him on tv again.
yeah, O’Keefe doesn’t deserve another chance… a lot more people are deserving of that opportunity.
People do make mistakes, and some do learn from it, but O’Keefe is too far gone. Proper long-term treatment is what he needs, before any “consideration” of returning to any form of employment in the TV / Entertainment industry.
Markson’s just angling for more business.
But I love this quote:
“He’s young. He’s got another 40 years plus to go for it
O’Keefe is a similar age to me. And that is not young. So I think it’s s bit of stretch to think he’s got 40 more years in him. Especially coming from such a low as he is now.
I’m not advocating a return to TV but there is precedence for a star with (at least superficially similar) offences being on network TV now. It was covered in the Last Year of Television special.
He might be thinking O’Keefe’s another Peter Hitchener!
