Pretty hyped for Survivor tonight. Hopefully it lives up to expectations.
Couldnât. You couldnât care less.
I reckon this will rate low 700Ks at best - people might be looking for something to watch now the Olympics are winding up, but really, if you had any interest in the format youâd have been watching the American one until now. I just hope that watching it doesnât ruin the original version for me.
Maybe he is saying that it is possible for him to care less than he cares now.
The Block twitter account already sending out trolling/sledging tweets towards Survivor
Free publicity.
Looks good in native HD
I havenât read what you two are arguing about, but I just love that lemonsquash is using âbitternessâ as an insult
In this Fairfax article, Ten executive producer Stephen Tate indicates that there will be a season 2.
They must be extraordinarily confident.
Production values are excellent. Good that there is no ads in the first 22minutes.
That first 20 mins were brilliant. Fast paced, straight into it. Unlike The Block that dragged on for the first 30 mins.
Brilliant start. Looks great. Jonathan Lapaglia is a little dry but I think he will warm into it.
First challenge is good. Looks like ten have pulled out all stops to make this show work. If it flops they havenât died wondering.
If this fails it is definitely not the production values or anything like that. It would simply be that people arenât interested in Survivor. I hope thats not the case. Not that we should rely on Twitter but it has been trending for the duration.
Although it may not mean a whole lot, itâs trending number one on Twitter. I think itâs fair to assume it should do well as people tune in to see what the show is like.
First episode was very good and the two challenges were exciting. Again Ten made the same mistake as MasterChef by having an extended episode, it should be trimmed back to 75 to 90 minutes including ads.
I think it was understandable for the first episode. Hopefully it isnât extending to 90 minutes tomorrow night and finished on the advertised time.
Although, there is no excuse for them to not finish this on the advertised time.
The first episode was definitely too long. I was really into it the first 30 mins but as it went on started to drag and wasnât finding it as compelling. Almost 2 hours! First ep should be short, sharp and sweet. Hopefully future eps are shorter.
As I suspected the large cast was its downfall. I couldnât keep track of who belonged to what tribe which is why tribe themes work well.
The production was good overall except the one thing that annoyed me was the very choppy camerawork during the challenge. Made it hard to follow. I reckon that will improve though once they find their feet.
I noticed a lot more focus on the Survival aspect such as building shelters and stuff to the US season. I wonder if there will be any hidden immunity idols?
I think the first episide willl rate decently, but the real test will be after 2 or 3 episodes.
Apparently they will be. Heard an interview with Jonathan lapaglia and he mentioned some come into play.
Ok Iâm guessing when they go to 2 tribes it will happen then. I guess it would prob be too much to throw that stuff to the Aussie audience so early on.
I thought the first ep needed to be that long to cater for new fans. In the US, regular fans arenât tuning in to see the shelters being built, they just want the game play. But for a new Australian audience they needed to see the environment that the castaways were in and the difficulties they faced.
The Australian teams seemed to get along really well - much better than most of the recent US seasons, so I am expecting (hoping) for some tough decisions at upcoming tribals. Tonightâs was a no-brainer - 7 votes to one.
The production quality was excellent and Johnathan was good - enough like Jeff to keep fans happy but unique as well.
Has anyone watched the exit interview yet?
Please keep the convo about the episodes outcome vague, Iâm still waiting to watch! (I know I should be staying off this thread, but curious to see reactions to the show overall).
