Spartan on this week’s Gogglebox :muscle:t5:

Surprised this received some positive comments from the Goggleboxers.

New promo shown tonight during My Kitchen Rules brands the show as “new family fun”. It is a different tune from previous weeks when the promo was all about the Spartan race phenomenon, the obstacles and the teams.

It’s been advertised like this since the start of the week. Seven are still hoping the numbers will pick up I guess.

I’m assuming they wouldn’t be hoping for less numbers…

Maybe I should have used the word ‘thinking’ rather than ‘hoping’.

it was also branded as “Australia’s #1” on the ads on Prime7, causing hysterical laughter in our house.

Australia’s #1 what, though? Australia’s #1 sport game show currently on the air? :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of which, they often have these creative ways of claiming #1. For example #1 new show or #1 drama or #1 comedy or even #1 show in America.

This week they were running a promo of The Good Doctor with the byline Australia’s #1 show. How can that be when MKR and MAFS have been rating higher this year? Seems like they are just making any claim they feel like these days.

The claim for The Good Doctor would be because it’s currently picking up an extra 200-300k in consolidated ratings, giving it a higher average than both MKR and MAFS currently.

Thanks. I knew there would be a sneaky or tricky explanation.

#1 Flop maybe?

Eddy has confirmed that the tyre swing obstacle was tweaked to make it easier for the contestants to successfully land their jumps off the tyre, and that some contestants were injured during filming.

Great episode last night. New obstacle the human ladder took its toll on many teams in the heat. Only two teams completed the obstacle within the five minute time limit but neither could make it to the end of water obstacle, the contestants struggled to climb up the 2.5m high wall having spent so much energy on the twisting rope ladder.
The show made its debut on TVNZ 2 (the same channel which airs original version of My Kitchen Rules) last night, one week after Australia.

500,000 viewers.

Surely to god Seven can’t handle this bleeding and MKR will be back on next Sun?

Nah it was shit, no one fucking finished the course, and only like 3 teams made it to the wet zone. I thought last week’s was brutal, but this week’s was so much worse. I think seven severely overestimated how gruelling this course is.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they modified the course yet again to make it easier for competitors. NW was bad that because one completed the Grand Final but most qualifiers into the semi’s made it through.

Do we know the new timeslot yet? Given the show started in NZ last night, it’s possible the Kiwis may see the episodes before us if Seven does not reschedule it soon.

Quick someone better get the smelling salts for @Mitchell_Nock! :worried:
