I think they have done this so they can film whenever (i.e. not at 2 in the morning). They can film at better hours for the hosts and fans. If you remove COVID restrictions from the equation, if the show was filmed during the day, you would be able to get a full house, compared with being at 2 am, when it would be unlikely.
Also, they can still film if it rains.
They did anyway previously, but yes, they can film whenever, whatever the weather.
Probably not available because last I heard, the RAS wants to use the Showgrounds for its intended purpose this year - especially after they had to cancel last year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show (an event which I believe is set up for a month or more in advance) a few weeks before it was scheduled to open.
As I posted earlier, the late session is scheduled to finish at 2am.
Oh OK, then there is no real need to be indoors, other than the weather/cost might have been cheaper.
I think noise was a factor in moving the show indoors.
Is Mount Midoriyama going to be indoors or outdoors?
I was in the crowd yesterday. All the set is outdoors near Qudos Bank Arena at Sydney Olympic Park.
So it is outdoors!
The finals of season 5 will take place outside Qudos Bank Arena tonight, March 4 with semi final 1, following by semi final 2 on March 10 and grand final on March 12. All are late night sessions. Tickets are now available from That’s the Ticket website.
According to today’s Sunday Herald Sun, tennis star Nick Kyrgios filmed several episodes of season 5 as sideline commentator and interviewing contestants with Shane Crawford.

The promo is awesome, but a bit over the top.
I was lucky to be apart of the audience for one of the episodes. It was awesome!
Olivia has been a competitior on Ninja Warrior every year since it began.
So is it all head to head this year?
